The decade would have to have started with the first ten years though, ie years 1 to 10

you've conveniently lost a year somewhere and I don't know why.

 

it can be interpreted both ways, as we technically started from year 1.

However the award was given for 2000-2009, which means this fight would have no relevence for the last fighter of the year award.

Technically you're right, but no one counts decades that way. That's why all the millienium celebrations were Dec. 1999, even though the millenial year wasn't until Dec. 2000.

No one counts 1990 as part of the 80s. It's just not how it's done. So quit being a troll.

you're suggesting there was a year nought.

 

If your starting from 2001 as being this decade then yes this decade isnt over.

But the AWARD that was given to Pacquiao is from 2000-2009 which is ALSO correct, as being a decade.

 

News flash: A decade is 10 years, Pac won it for 2000-2009. If Mayweather wants fighter of the decade he'll have hang around until 2019. It's unfortunate because Mayweather had a chance to beat so many great fighters, but in his words the money didn't make sense. I guess that's why he fought huge paydays against Sharmba Mitchell, Henry Bruseles, DeMarcus Corley, Philip N'Dou ect ect.

 

then floyd better start an award giving body that starts with 2001 and ends with 2010, stop moving the goal post and fight pac so that he can have a chance of winning it. he cannot win these awards by posturing and whining thru the medias.
