If Mitchell beats Katsidis who should he fight?

Thats true , the guy is definatley ****ed in the head !!!!!

I'd like to see him fight Murray, I think Khan would be too big for him a LW and and Mitchell's only just stepped out to LW. Mitchell vs Murray would be a really good London vs Manchester matchup with two exciting come forward fighters who'd just basically go to war coupled with the fact that they've both Mitchell in particular shown evidence of increased tactical awareness. It would be an absolute domestic classic and if he won (which i think he would ) Mitchell unlike Khan would be able to move onto world level having proved that he's the best fighter at the weight in britian rather than leaving a credible fighter calling him out and accusing him of ducking the fight . Then onto Marquez

Btw i think people are forgetting what a tough fight this is for Kevin, IMO its an upset if he were to win, not a massive one, but still an upset. Remember Katsidis was giving Casamayor all he could handle before running into that shot and Casa is on a different level to Mitchell. People are also going over the top in praise for Mitchell winning the Prescott fight who's nothing more then a club fighter.

Kevin gets drawn into a brawl and stopped late.

 

Kats stops mitchell late.

Mitchell will then pad is record with a few easy beats before stepping up again.

 

Marquez would beat him i think, so would KHan.......

Murray would be the one he should fight.......

Katsidis does well against boxers because they don't make him back up. Diaz beat him (clearly, IMO) because he met fire with fire. He gave him almost no ground and kept him turning.

His success against Casmayor came mostly because Joel was faded pretty badly by that point and was never fond of hard-charging pressure fighters in the first place. He was doing well, but still got his ass kicked.

Mitchell has four things to do to win this:

- lateral movement at all times. Katsidis is hopeless when he has to punch across himself.
- step forwards when punching. The attacks need to both discourage and hurt Katsidis. he's a little chinny, so take charge to try and sting him.
- don't stay inside with him and let him get to the body. He's murderously heavy-handed and those shots will end the night early.
- throw combinations straight down the middle, jab-straight-jab at all times. Only hook when Katsidis throws and is out of position because he's fast enough to catch Kev in between punches.

 

Murray's done nothing to deserve a title fight, you need to fight more than once a year if you want to be taken seriously as a prof boxer.

I'd have Mitchell have a go at Malignaggi or Diaz first, then move on to JMM.

 

if khan beats mallignaggi, is khan is an option in terms of progression if you are saying khan needs to take another step up before fighting JMM?

Again having said that, a step to LWW for mitchell would probably be too much of an ask having just moved to LW.

imo kevin's to small for LWW,anyway if hes comfortable at LW why move up,he can still make a lot of money staying put.Oh Willie Limond for his first defence should he win.

From a personal point JMM, but if i was Mitchell i would steer clear of that fight for a while.

Regarding Khan v Mitchell, if i was Mitchell i would again wait for a bit. He has only just come up from super featherweight and whilst Khan is at 140 i think its just thwe size factor at this moment.

But in a few years i think Mitchell will have the beating of Khan, if they where the same weight now i think Mitchell beats Khan.


This is going to be the British fight of the year.
