If MMA continues to be anything like 2007, I would stop following it.

you need to take off your anti UFC blinders off, all that has happened in MMA you shouldn't really make comments like that, it's easy to pad a record and become bigger than you really are....as good as Fedor is and has been he is beatable like everyon else. If he would have fought Arlovski, Couture, Barnett, or even Sylvia these last couple years in stead of doing his circus act he might not be undefeated.Maybe he should beat on Coleman 1 more time for good measure.

I thought 2007 was ****ing awful for MMA.

    1) Pride died, which basically halved the number of quality events and quality fights in the year. Say what you will about them, but Pride added a hell of a lot to the sport and their absence this year was sorely missed.

    2) Fighter inactivity - You had guys like Gomi, Fedor, Arlovski, Nogueira, Kawajiri, Melendez, Werdum, Ishida, Barnett, Arona etc taking practically the whole year off.

    3) Lack of big fights. Really the only thing that came close to being a "super fight" all year was Chuck vs Wanderlei, and even then they were both coming off 2 losses each. Other than that, there was just a complete lack of hugely anticipated matchups.

2007 was the worst year for MMA since I started watching the sport 5 years ago, imo.

No way man, this was one of the best, for the 1st time in the history of MMA the best fighters are under 1 roof and will be fighting one another, it hasn't been smooth and some people foolishly haven't wanted to get onto the ark but the groundwork has been layed for the 1st truly all encompassing organization like the NFL/NBA/NHL.

    Anyway, there were lots of big fights in 2007, Chuck-Rampage 2, GSP-Hughes 3, Silva-Franklin 2, Couture-Sylvia, Wand-Chuck.
No less than big fights in 2006.

Like I said, it hasn't been a totally smooth transition so not all the dream fights have happened like how we wanted but wait till next year, 2008 will outdo everything that came before it!

Perhaps we will begin to see the benefits of the Pride buy out next year, but the deal bore very little fruit in 2007. We just got less great events, less great fights and many of the world's best fighters sat on the sidelines doing nothing for a year.

ummm i would have to disagree with a few points

1.not many mma fighters( swear you can ask almost any pro mma fighter) will just without serious thinking fight someone that outweights them by 110lb with a feet of height advantage

    2. cheick kongo will not beat choi, do you know how much more power in ever punch or kick choi throws, who has cheik kongo fought that is taller than him and heavier than him but knows how to strike great. the only big name kongo ever fought was cro cop which was shorter and lighter about 20lb. not to mention he cant submit

    3. just realized how many people you put so i am not going to put a solid answer to it but if its ufc rules even fedor might have been beat, as you can see he falls on top when you try to take him down, with a 360lb man on top of you and slamming elbows, no one will feel good.....

just admit it, it has yet to prove fedor a paper champion, beating a man with a feet advantage, 110lb+ advantage, fought more than 20 times and 10 in k-1, and sumo wrestled is never easy
