Why explain it when you can just call people names?

So sad. Hey, if I have three judges tomorrow decide that the Saints beat the Rams, will people believe that, too?

Ignorance is bliss. That's why getting the FACTS (like quotes, like the scorecards or reports of them) is the key to counter this type of 'huggery.'

    Great post!

He could think he won the fight and still want to quit. If he had got hurt, or realised that he could no longer compete atthe top despite winning, it makes sense. If he looks back and thinks "I think I did enough, yet I was getting hit too hard by those punches. If I carry on, I could end up seriosuly hurt." then it's easy to see why he'd think about quitting.

Can he still go? I think so, but he may disagree. There isn't too many opponents who would give him the opprtunities to score like Cotto did. The reason the fight was always going to be so good was because of the styles clash. The reason Mosley had a chance to win because he had the skills to neutralise Cotto. Even though he lost, is there any fight out there which he has as much chance in, against elite opposition? Probably not.

If cotto would of kept the same pace he had in the earlier rounds, he would of won by a larger margin.
He even said he thought he had a larger lead.
Cotto did win rounds 11 and 12. round 11 was one of the easiest rounds to score.

    People and their ****ing EGO's

These two were great champs, Cotto and Shane were superb. I was thinking it could've been a draw or Cotto has won a UD by an inch. It wasn't a robbery. My boy who's been rooting for Mosley even said Cotto won but it was real close.
The only robbery was in the Joel fight.

And at the late rounds, Cotto had the first half and Shane finished swiftly.

Cotto still did great and kept up well.

Apparently at least two of the judges did'nt have Cotto with the lead you talk about!
Not that Mosely overwhelmed Cotto in the 12th, he was pretty much gassed from working so hard in rounds 9, 10, and 11, but Cotto forfieted that round by running away from Mosely and basically doing nothing while Mosley threw and landed more punches and pursued!

Beautiful, but if indeed the report from the LA times and Ringtalk are correct, can you explain the action of one judge giving the last two rounds to Cotto, and worse....another judge giving rounds 6 thru 11 to Cotto?
It goes against your own analysis!

Like yourself, I'm just sick and tired of seeing something like that judge scoring 5 out of the last 6 to Cotto, and not have at least the media respond to it and hold the commisions who appoint these judges accountable.

Thats right, it the commisions who should be held accountable as they are the ones who keep appointing these same crooked and or incompetent judges over and over again.

Did you hear what HBO said in the telecast.....one of the judges only had two fights of championship experience, and had not been involved in a championship fight in over two years......how could that judge be appointed in as big a high profile fight like this????:think

I would have started a thread calling out everyone to explain to me the scores that I talk about, but I've seen reports that I've read be wrong before (I dont think thats the case here) but I'd like to see the master scoresheet posted in a boxing site to make certain that 5 out of the last 6 for Cotto is for real!

It just seems so unbelievable to me......Cotto was absolutely hammered in rounds 9 and 10, just clear rounds that could not be mistaken to have gone to Cotto!

Personally I had Mosley winning, taking most of the first half, and then most of the final quarter, with Cotto taking 6-8 or something like that. However, I wasn't watching closely enough to call it a robbery overall. Nevertheless, Mosley can have been robbed of certain rounds, even if the overall result wasn't so unfair.
I think a draw may well have been the best result.
