It will be three years and a 1-1-2 record for 36 year old Salido since he first fought Lomachenko. He has visibly faded from what he once was, while Lomachenko has improved since his first loss.

To think how limited Salido is and how everyone viewed him before the first Juanma match and then how very highly praised he is today... kinda somethin'.

That said, this is the fight Lomachenko has to take right now. Longer he waits, the lesser it becomes. But everyone is on board that this fight must happen for Lomachenko and his fans' sake (to support their claims), and really is still one of the better fights out there for Lomachenko, undoubtedly being billed and looking some of the part as a near future and present superstar.

    This is entirely untrue.
Salido is the most underrated fighter of the generation.
Wins the last 5 rounds against the 'intelligent' ATG in prime, FW Marquez.
Starts to make a comeback against Mikey Garcia before Garcia quits because of his broken nose.
Loses against a 126lb version of Gamboa, but still drops him.
Even fight with Francisco Vargas, clearly beats Roman Martinez both times. This is the best he's ever been. If he ages overnight, **** it, he got Lomachenko when Lomachenko hadn't even adapted yet, and Salido won ugly/illegally.

    Expecting a Loma win

But for the thread sake Salido winning again is always possible, the Lopez rematch springs to mind

If Loma lost I wouldnt say he is a hype job, he has beaten a few good enough fighters to dispell that. I would put it in the Barkley or Mayorga category of this guy is just poison. Sometimes the tough crude fighters with the odd angle punches just surprise the classy boxers so used to facing such orthodox styles at the pro and am world level. I think its more a testament to how tough Salido is

That said Garcia Marquez and Gamboa all showed us what an elite does to him. If Loma cant do it it makes me wonder how great he is.

I love Salido, but he's 36 now 61 fights in, and he's shipped too much punishment in his last 4 fights since he beat Lomachenko. Every one of his fights could have been fight of the year. Vargas hit him with almost 400 punches, ditto for Martinez over their two matches, probably another 200 from Kokietgym. Then you compare it to how Lomachenko is only 28, 8 fights in, and Walters only managed to hit him 49 times. Lomachenko is less damaged and taking less damage every fight. Lomachenko has gotten better since they fought. The gap between the two continues to widen. I don't think it would be competitive at this point.

If by some fluke Salido beat him again, I'd just have to chalk it up to styles and Salido being better than everybody thought; like when Marquez beat Pacquiao or Forrest beat Mosley. Lomachenko has already proven that he belongs with the elite in the game.

If Salido beat him AGAIN, it could not be argued that it was a fluke.

Rumors are that Lomochenko wants nothing to do with A Salido rematch so that's the fight I'm demanding from him next. He needs to finish his plate, no ducking.

Salido didn't even win the first fight, no way he makes it through 12 this time.

Haha what rumours are those? Lomachenko is the one who has always wanted the fight again, Salido has held it up with his monetary demands.

Rumors that Lomochenko doesn't want that fight and is looking towards others like Vargas. After hearing this, I don't really expect Salido 2 anymore.

You joined in October. I forgive you for not knowing the sentiment about Salido from the majority on this site before then.

Loma was highly regarded, but I don't think beating Loma the first time was that big of an upset honestly. Beating him now will mean much more, but at the end day he's shop worn, just too many wars for me to give him any chance at beating that phenom Known as Vasyl Lomachenko! LOMACHENKO TKO10!

    Agreed...!

Loma has only improved and Salido is on the downside of the hill !

Loma will utterly humiliate the dirty rat!!
