If the immediate rematch between Lewis and Vatali were made in 2003

is it a known fact that lewis was out of shape and unmotivated for the fight (evidenced by him being out of shape?) if so, i'm sure he would be motivated for the second bout or else why would he take it, and everyone knows how he performed in rematches

 

Lennox decision, he underestimated Vitali, he would not do that in rematch. As Lewis said Vitali doesnt look that good outside he has specific style because of his kickboxing background but when you are in the ring with him its hard to get adjusted to that style but i think Lewis pulls UD in very hard competitive fight.

 

If a fat **** Lewis managed to stop a Vitali in the 6th, just imagine what an in shape and motivated Lennox would do to a face scarred Klitschko

I'd expect a 5 pound lighter, more focused Lewis, who would not try to outbox Vitali on the outside this time at all. His sucess on the inside, which led to the first big cut (doesn't matter how it happened) would be a focus of his plan. He wouldn't be able to rely on a cut to obscure Vitali's vision but Lennox has proven himself in rematches so he'd be an obvious favourite.

Vitali would need to improve his grappling and find a way to negate Lewis's top shelf dirty tactics. Would need to find a way to stop the holding/hitting and the constant rubbing of dreadlocks in his face. This is paramount because there's no way to keep Lewis of him like he is able to do with other fighters. Problem is Lewis can do so many things so well it would be hard to be prepared for all eventualities.

No-one is going down in this fight. I can see a win on points for Vitali if he keeps Lewis of him enough and I can also see another TKO for Lewis if Vitali can't.

Good post. Vitali won the mental battle and entered his prime at the same time during the first fight. There is absolutely no way Lenox can stand against prime, confident Vitali, he's just a lesser fighter.

This time around Vit will be a counter puncher, clowning Lewis into lunging and punishing him even worse then areolla.

Well I've just read an article on ESB saying that Lennox's mom was the one who ruined Lennox v.s. Vitali II She prohibited his son to fight Vitali again.

 

Even his mom knew Lenox might come out with a brain damage in the rematch. She's definitely not a brittard and has some serious knowledge of the sport

Less than a year earlier the guy procedes to beat Tyson half to death then sues him for a rematch but wants nothing to do with a rematch against a live and quite frankly superiour opponent in Klitschko.

Had Lewis been as confident as some of these posts are, he'd have taken the fight, made a fortune, and bowed out of his career without leaving ANY doubt as to who was the better man.
