Yes that's what happened but Peter was clearly stunned when he backed off, Maskaev came in and landed another shot clean then Peter held. He was shaken/hurt, nothing TOO major but still hurt.

Why is this topic even being discussed?

He supposedly made a lifetime ban bet on this fight. He shouldn't be around at all.

If Peter somehow manages to beat Vitali in a possible rematch (I don't give him more than 5% to do that), that should mean he has improved big time.

So, as this is all theoretic, he would have a pretty good chance to beat Wladimir.

Anyone who saw Peter's face 4-5 hours after the Wlad fight will understand the following...

Peter will never be the same after the Wlad fight. This would be an easy win for Peter. Few heavyweights in the history of boxing could have absorbed what Peter did that night for 12 rounds. Peter, though it was foolish, will always have my respect for being able to get bombed on for 20 rounds by two of the hardest hitting heavyweights of all-time and not go down.

There's more chance that I'll mud-wrestle with the Queen of England than Vitali will rematch Sam !

Oh well, the thread suggests it as a possibility, so I had to consider that in order to respond. :D

Why would they make that fight when Peter just showed everyone that he is just a Tomato Can.
No one is interested in watching Peter fight.
    He is without skill.
