If Tyson ,rather than meeting China chinned Bruce Seldon took on Byrd instead? Does Chris frustrate his man ,zipping in and out to build up points , Or can Tyson show his old Best and ko the Michigan star ? Byrd of the Tua fight .
Tyson beats Byrd. If Byrd fights a perfect fight and runs all night, he has a small chance of making it to the final bell in a non competitive loss. But, I doubt it. Byrd was no better, and hit nowhere near as hard as the version of Andrew Golota that Tyson demolished in 2 rounds.
Byrd from then probably loses a come from behind KO as he tries exchanging with Tyson in the pocket. But the Byrd from Tua wins a wide decision against 94/96 Tyson imo
Byrd was no Jimmy Young....sure he would have been elusiveand troublesome for awhile for Mike, but he'd have been caught and dispatched eventually...and like previously noted...on his shield after an honest effort, unlike Seldon.
Tyson was all hype by 96 and had nothing left as an elite fighter. Byrd in 96 would’ve schooled Tyson, who was slow as molasses and had awful timing.
Didn't Tyson always have trouble with guys that were mobile? Unless he gets over confident like Botha and gets iced ,and takes Tyson in to late round s then Byrd could take this ,maybe even by ko .

Tyson wasn't slow. Speed and power was the only thing he had left. His timing was bad, but I don't believe that was physical, more poor training. He became a blunt force trauma type HW rather than the sharp shooter he was in his prime.
