I do agree with you, I just missed that post. It wasn't misfortune it was a legit win.

 

All true. Vitali would've been a hard fight for any HW in history though head to head.

 

Vitali has the best "virtual reality" resume in recent time.

Vitali "would have, could have, should have" beaten Chris Byrd if he didn't quit.

Vitali "would have, could have, should have" beaten Lennox Lewis if he wasn't badly cut.

Vitali also "would have, could have, should have" beaten:

Hasim Rahman if he didn't postpone or cancel 4 straight times.
Jameel McCline if he didn't pull out of the fight.
The Olympic Drug Testing Committee if he stopped his cycle sooner.
The Elections if the voters went to more debates.

It's so much more impressive than guys like Hasim "Son of Oleg" Rahman, who actually owns wins over Lennox Lewis, Corrie Sanders (a younger and freshier and more active one than whom Vitali beat), and a draw (everyone knows he won) against David Tua.

It's also so much more impressive than Vitali's younger brother, who actually owns wins over the likes of Chris Byrd, Tony Thompson, Calvin Brock, Sultan Ibragimov, and Sam Peter. All contenders or title holders at the time.

Vitali's "virtual reality" resume trumps them all.

 

Vitaly was putting on a hell of a show against Lewis before the fight was stopped. You can't compare Rahman to Vitaly. Rahman landed the "lucky" punch and if it wasn't for that he would have lost, over and over, and over.

Rahman faced an undertrained Lewis and got the job done. Knocked him out and became the heavyweight champion of the world.

Brittley faced an undertrained, inactive for a year Lewis and lost.

And I don't think he was better than a lot of them including Lewis, Holyfield, Tyson.

But I think he could have made an argument for top 10-15 if he kept busy and kept winning. He was a brutal guy.

 

Dude, I'm not a Vitaly fanboy so get over yourself. If you know anything about boxing and you're not blind you know Vitaly was taking Lewis to school, end of story. Say what you want. And by the way, Rahman blows. I don't care about his becoming champ of the world, and by accident nevertheless.

 

Never seen anyone taking that much clean hits, while taking someone to school. I think you should watch the fight again.

Round 2 was the only round that Vitali won by a clear margin.

The other rounds were close, and by the end of the fight Lewis swept the final round on all cards.

Yes, he was up on the cards by a whopping score of 4-2 on the cards, that others had 3-3. Real domination and schooling.

Nevermind Vitali being hurt and falling all over Lewis late in round 6 from a short right hand.

I know Rahman isn't anything special, at all.

He still is more achieved than Shitali.

 

Apparently winning the first 2 rounds, and then splitting the next 4 (or losing 3 of them), is "taking someone to school".

Especially when you're hurt and falling over your opponent before the fight is stopped when your face looks like it got buck-fiftied
