Moorer was I think the number one contender, and even with one belt, he'd still be one, and Foreman was a voluntary defense for Moorer.

Well, Moorer did beat Holyfield, and Foreman KOd Moorer, and Briggs robbed Foreman, so yeah.

But I think Foreman would get stripped first before losing the Briggs fight.

 

I pretty sure Holyfiled would still face Moore, and Moore would win the title, I think the line stays the same up to Foreman, now with Foreman champion, I dont know what would happen after that, I think he be force into a fight with Lewis over Briggs or something, not sure.

 

My guess would be Chris Byrd, he was ranked by the Ring as the number one heavyweight from 2004-2006. I can see his rematch with Wlad being for Vitali's vacated title.

It ends with Lewis IMO. I don't consider Wlad to be the true heavyweight champion although he is clearly the best right now. If he were to beat either his brother or Haye then I think the lineage would start again.

I don't quite understand your point. Nobody did beat Holmes before Spinks did. I don't see how this would be any different if Holmes was the only champion in the division. Everyone considered him to be the best heavyweight around long before Spinks got to him. The fact that some other fighters held belts didn't change that.

Imagine if we reversed controversial decisions, the line would look something like this:

Floyd < Ingemar < Floyd < Sonny < Cassius < Joe F. < George F. < Muhammad < Jimmy Young admin) < Ken < Larry < either Tim or Carl, take your pick and then the line get diluted from there

I believe that Vitali after defeating Corrie Sanders was the man in the HW division - and if there had benn only 1 belt, they would probably have fought for it then.

Why beating Haye makes Wladimir a linear champion? :think Wladimir beat Byrd (IBF), then he beat Ibragimov (WBO) and then he beat Chagaev (WBA, stripped because of the corruption)

If anything makes Wladimir a linear champion it would be without any doubt beating Chagaev, as he was no2 contender then (no1 Vitali),
