I look at all of the above, and I see a resume that raises as many questions as it answers. That is why I can't get behind Ibeabuchi in this one!
This literally applies to every fighter in history. Please don't post dumb **** again. You're confused. You've waved the white flag. Does Tua put on his pants like everyone else or does he fly into them? World Championship amateur competition is better than most fighters first 20 fights. Amateur boxing is not automatically < professional boxing just because it's called amateur. The fighters fighting in the olympics are better than most pros with less than 15 fights. You replied to me. I never engaged you prior to that. There you go again. Thinking boxing is just a+b=c. It takes more than power. Reach, strengths, weaknesses, strategy all come into play. Please stop posting if you're just going to chalk fantasy match ups to "Oh well he hit harder than this guy who floored that dude so he wins"
Sounds like political correctness to me. If you disagree with dago come up with some information. Otherwise you come off sounding rather silly.
I did, check the thread Mr Choke! “Sounding silly” Funny coming from you. Mcgrain has you on record saying why you joined this forum in the first place
Oh play me another record. At the moment I am under the influence of a full night on the beer. In the morning, when I am more lucid, I shall respond for the 32nd time about this nonsense that McGrain himself has clearly explained is not the bile you just said. Repeating this garbage again is beyond silly, it’s actually SuzieQ49 level. Which is the same thing as ludicrous only twelve times more obscure.
Everyone can debunk a myth. Don’t you think myths should be debunked? Fairy’s at the bottom of the garden should not be debunked but Sonny Liston being ducked by Marciano when he was not eligible to challenge for a title is okay?? Stop wheeling out this garbage. It never stood up. That was a myth. Why shouldn’t somebody debunk that? When was Sonny rated during Marcianos reign? Rocky Marciano did not duck Sonny Liston. If you think he did or you think nobody should challenge that nonsense then you are supporting unsubstantiated myths that should be debunked.
What questions did it raise? Ike proved he could take a shot, give one back, fight hard for twelve rounds without physically or mentally wilting, and break down and KO a fast, elusive target that had never been stopped before. Considering how little we got to see of him at world level we're actually able to deduce an awful lot.
Ask mcgrain. The only time I said I wanted to debunk myths about Sonny Liston I was directly referring to the myths about Rocky ducking Sonny because Nobody was challenging it at the time. A lot of people were happy to support the notion that Sonny should have challenged Rocky and should have been allowed to not dive against Ali.. it was ludicrous. But This was a long time ago. And a lot of youngsters were getting carried away with Sonny as a top three ATG. Thankfully it has died down a lot since then.
I'm sorry. I just expected a fighter who could knock out anyone if he landed on them to actually try to go for a clean KO when he had ample opportunity to do so. So Sharkey wasn't the guy who got his shoulders and hips dislocated by Dempsey? I'm curious who he was referring to then? I think I've waved the red flag. He jumps into them from a great height and causes the ground to wobble like a bad Saturday morning cartoon. Tua was a teenaged kid. He wasn't close to hitting his prime. There are only so many I can make the above information clear. You asked me a direct question. Did you not want me to answer it? What do you think of my fight breakdown?
You make outrageous claims like Johansson would beat Liston in 1959, Ezzard Charles ranks higher than Liston all time at heavyweight, Cleveland Williams was on the same level as Brian London, and my favorite...Patterson had a better career at heavyweight than Liston and you rank them neck and neck. I’ve never heard anyone make a claim Liston was top 3 all time, but he’s much higher than where you rank him at number 15! He’s a top 10 heavyweight of all time
