Floyd's the much better boxer, faster, with a much better defense. Height and Reach are actually equal here. Quartey while being stronger and harder hitting didn't bring too much pressure so he's not going to break FMJ down. Quartey has an excellent jab with good timing but Floyd is even better at slipping and countering jabs. FMJ UD 9-3
Don't write off Quartey that quick against Mayweather. Logically, speed would be the clear advantage for Mayweather in comparison to the effectiveness of Quartey's extended jab. Prime Bazooka would do significantly better than Ricky Hatton's showing against the Pretty Boy. If Quartey catches Mayweather in the corner like he did against DelaHoya and like Hatton did against him before getting knocked out, Ike has more than enough inside skills to keep him on the ropes and hurt him. Mayweather probably wins 6 to 7 times out of 10 over a 12 round decision, but I'd bet on Ike to knock out Floyd before Floyd KO's Quartey.

Ike by close decision. His size, strength, and pressure behind that ramrod jab would force Floyd to fight too negatively to take the decision. It wouldn't be a fight where Floyd would just pick Ike off either, given Ike's high and tight guard and solid inside countering skills. The jab would be the main weapon (in fact I think a strong jab is one of the keys to beating Floyd) for Ike here, as it would give Mayweather tremendous difficulties in maintaining his preferred distance and countering against that guard (similar to how he had difficulties countering Oscar when he was throwing it).
Huh??? :? I think you are living in Mayweather Fantasy Land mate, if you think neutralizing jabs is one of Floyd's strong points. It's actually one of his key weaknesses. Guys like Whitaker and Hopkins had their own different but equally successful means of neutralizing jabs. Floyd doesn't have that ability to anywhere near the same degree.
I dont think thats one of his weaknesses. I think Floyds only weakness, is when he is forced to lead against a slick type counterpuncher. Quartey definitely took the lead, and fought behind a jab and right hand and thats it. Mayweather was far too quick to get stuck on the end of his jab, plus Floyd has a vastly underated chin and he kills guys who fight in a straight line like Ike did.
Not really sure about this one. As others have mentioned, Ike had a superb jab which is they key to beating a faster fighter - and if Floyd is vulnerable to anything, it's a good jab. I think Mayweather would figure something out though. He's the more versatile fighter and I think he would find a way to win, probably having success by countering with his right hand. I'll take Floyd by decision in a good, competative fight.
Its a shame many modern histroans are still doubting Floyd, but I suspect that will change once Mayweather defeats Pacquaio. I agree with everything you said. Too add a little I think Mayweahter has solid power. Enough to get people's respect for sure.
i agree FMJ at WW isnt that great if it was the SFW Floyd in there in the body of the 147 Floyd he would win but its a big IF.
Respect to the African warrior. But floyd got too much ring smarts for him. Would absorb work out and work him over .... easy points win. Easy question ... what has Ike got that Money aint dealt with before?
Ike was a great fighter but at the very highest level I mark him down for ring generalship. He could and should have inflicted ODLH 1st defeat decisively. He let him of the hook and allowed the judges to take it away by split decision. Pound for pound PBF. You cannot beat PBF with a left hand alone however good it is.
