Ye probably. The term "move around" is followed sometimes, you are correct but I think, in general, the JM doesn't go to lose.

William Warburton is no mug, far better than his record.

People like him keep the sport going and there's many fights he could've put his foot down and won, but then he wouldn't get a call from the promoter to fight the following week etc so loses out money wise.

Ye that's right. Also if u gave warby a full camp with no concerns about getting cut etc, he would win a lot of fights.
But like I say, there's s lot against them. But it's not correct to say that they turn up every week with the attitude, "I'm going to lose this fight on purpose"

    :deal:

That is the point I was making earlier; if they "gave it their all" with a level playing field, most of Warby's ilk would still have losing records...or at best .500ish, but they probably wouldn't only win 13% either.

I'm sure a few do go in the proverbial tank now and then for a ticket-selling but inadequate prospect from whom promoters are hoping to squeeze as much juice as possible while they can...but I'd say that's a minority of these journeyman's losses and not all of them even do it necessarily.

Great servant to boxing and was boxed some decent lads. This Ryan Gall wasn't one of them tho, terrible boxer who was just trying to tap WW arms all bout!

He has retired now -- saw this on social media. Very good journeyman. I saw him get a bad decision at Gorbals Leisure Centre in Glasgow years ago. Could have won a lot more but happy to go on the road for the $£$
