The klitschkos would be fine without boxing, theyre doctors, they'll make money.
All I was trying to say is that america loves the hard working, never quit kind of fighter. Vitali's heart was called in question when he quits againt Byrd because of his injury. People seen him as a ***** because of that, but we all know he is not.
The hunger a fighterwho has nothing else but boxing going for him in his life is more of a drining force than anything else imo. Reguardless of what you want to accomplish in the sport (winning the title with your brother, wanting to be the best), nothing will get you out of bed in the morning better than the idea that this is what you need to do unless your family will go hungry.
My whole post was not a knock on the klitschkos, its just a statement about what people perfer to see in boxers

True, but isn't that what "prize fighting" is all about. I agree, I don't think he's earned a true shot at the title, but I gotta hand it to the guy, he's made enough noise to get himself one. (heheh) Regardless of the outcome, its a win win for boxing.

Haye has already made me a fan. In my eyes he has already won because he has made a HW fight I'm actually really excited to see.

If haye loses we are back to the dull heavyweight division with nothing to look forward to. If he wins then we have that spark of drama that the division really needs!

If he beats both brothers........well we can dream!

Amen, bro. You hit the nail square on its head.

That's the whole idea of this thread.

I'm wlad fan, been for many years,,,i think sanders fight was the last time i saw wlad just go threw the motions,,,an brewster fight he no question was going to win, but the tko by sanders was still in his head,,,but today, wlad has fire, he just reserved, that is what i like about him, he just not the type of guy who needs to be crazy to prove he wants to fight,,,,he KOd everybody he fought besides peters (sutan the running man) in the past five years, he just boxes alot, which i as fan enjoy seeing him do, he dominates with his jab,,,i my self see conviction in his fights,

an me just cause you got a big mouth does not make you special,,,,that is just what i believe

being the true champ in the boxing world does allow you in most cases to move up and pretty much immediately challenge for a title i.e.hatton-collazo, holyfield-douglas, 2 weight classes with hopkins-tarver, taylor only has had one fight at supermiddle and now will be fighting for a title, roy jones junior-john ruiz. history has a ton of examples of good fighters moving up in weight and immediatly or after one or two fights fighting for a title in their new weights its no big deal and i dont even begin to fault haye for doing it at all

Couldn't agree more - if this is a PPV fight, it will be the first HW PPV I will consider buying since Tyson-Lewis.

The "spark" is generally a loud mouth, unprofessional ***** who talks smack.

Just because we have boxers in the division who are respectful doesn't mean they lack drive or do not want to be champions.

Americans have been brainwashed by MTV, smack talking rap stars and all kinds of other nonsense. The words out of a mans mouth doesn't make him a hungry champion - his performance in the ring does.

You are a Wlad fan, yet you support Haye against Wlad?

How stupid do you think we are?

The rest of your post is allright, but don't pretend to be a Klit fan beacuse you are obvously not.

If Ali didnt have his mouth, he wouldnt be the legend that he is today. Im not saying if its a good or a bad thing, but having the talk and being able to follow that up seems to elevate people above quieter fighters. ;)

Will ignore the asinine anti-American statements and just ask about the Thompson and Ibragimov fights. That was a champion showing he has the drive to be the best?????

I've posted some unflattering things about Wlad in the past, but for the first time in a long time, I'm excited about an upcoming heavyweight fight! It IS Haye thats bringing some of the excitement to this one, this is no chubby , unmotivated Sultan Igbragomov, or unknown, soft punching Tony Thompson. This is a fire spitting, leather throwing , trash talking , two fisted slugger.
Just the type of fighter that may play right into Wlads hands.
True, Dave will always be just a punch or two from knocking Wlad into next week, but what will Haye do when that long punishing jab knocks him back on his heels? What'll happen when Wlad connects with the straight right, the uppercut, the left hook? Haye has been accused of having a glass head too. And when you're a active puncher like Haye, you are leaving openings.
This may not be the public execution of Wlad that a lot of people expect. He's come a long way since losing to Brewster. He got nailed by Sam Peter and kept his composure pretty well. It was Peter who was never the same after that one.
Two big punchers with jaw issues make for a highly unpredictable fight. People question Wlads resolve, but this is his going to be his signature fight and he knows it. If he loses , he knows his haters will say he was a bum all along. But if he wins , while some may say Haye wasn't much to begin with, anyone who judges fairly will have to admit Wlad has improved a lot and is a good fighter.
Yeah, Haye is motivated by the prestige being heavyweight champ would bring, but the true hunger for historical recognition is Wlads. And it may make the difference.
