    Is he ****.

I try not to hate on him because you cant blame him for the hype around him and coming from casual/non boxing fans, but this makes it more difficult.

    Most definitley not a great.

And to be fair he didn't claim to be a great either

TFFP made it look that way

Looks like TFFPs tactics have worked, people are just reading the thread title and posting. I have to admit, I've done it myself.....

I don't know why so many fell for it, the bit that got everyone worked up had a quote with the word 'like' in it...it smelled like a sly dig to me the minute I read that...

Exactly, if they printed every 'you know' and 'like' the article would be 3 times longer

Just shows, there's a real thirst for Khan's blood

That's the British mentality I'm afraid

    This isn't and is PPV.

Khan is very popular and is a big name in the sport and can get big crowds and sponsorship and TV money. He probably gets paid a lot more than most of the world champions in boxing.
Same as Hattons WBU reign, he wasn't even a world champ then.

However, he shouldn't be at that stage yet.

But you cannot blame him for cashing in now. Only takes a decent puncher to catch that beard or head and he's toast. :patsch

But it's an exciting ride whilst it lasts, and I wish him well.

Shouldn't they have printed it word for word?

Apparently its misquoting if you fail to do this :-(

The British mentality isn't to knock people down. They only knock them down when they cash in for all they are worth.

For instance, I would be very surprised if Rebecca Adlington or Chris Hoy get hammered, because they will barely put their head over the parapet to be shot at. Contrast that to the cricket team of 2005, Naz, or even Audley, making people dislike them through their OTT celebrations, arrogance or delusion, then they are going to cop it.

Show a level head and you will be fine :deal

I dont think its that simple Brawler, sometimes tabloids just take a dislike... for example Michael Owen had a hard time at one stage and he is about as non-controversial a character as you can find.

However, in Khan's case I think it is because he comes across as very arrogant and misguided in some of his statements (including the fictional additions which TFFP adds - which nearly made me p!ss my pants). Cant he just keep his head down and fight a decent fighter and let the world make its mind up rather than rolling along on this wave blown up fighters. Although I admit, I have not looked into his opponent one little bit. Probably because I know I'll see seventeen other cans that he has KO'd and probably a couple of 43 year old Mexican's who took him the distance. Getting bored of Khan's opponents.

Having said that though, in terms of natural ability I think he's up there at the moment. If Rubio can teach him to block then he could actually acheive things on a world level...

I think for the most part you are right regarding the public's perception but the tabloids seem to have an unhealthy grip over many people's opinions. But that's a different debate.

Khan just seems to come across like a bell end though for the most part.
