You didn't hear people screaming DQ on that occasion, cause Cotto got up immediately and took the 8-count. Had he stayed down, that also would be a DQ.
Is it not reasonable to think that if you truly believe what you are saying Eze, then you can no longer have much respect for Dirrell? Faking an injury is a form of cheating, as is taking illegal supplements, but beyond that, it's just classless and demonstrates a lack of character. How can you possibly have any respect for Dirrell now?
The problem with ur opinion is that you have never boxed and probably never been in a fight so you dont know what it is to get knockout. It's a late ko and a late reaction. It was a punch he never saw coming, just like Bute vs Andrade II (first knockdown). Andrade got hit much harder but this one was unexpected.
Because I feel it's a smart move on his part? The fight was probably going to be called a DQ, sell it to be sure. Wins the fight, doesn't have to risk losing anymore because he won. because it wasn't like as he went down he got punched, the punch was way late.
Watch the video, he gets hit, his head slumps back as he looks at the ref and raises his right hand to his face, (as he was just punched in the jaw by Arthur Abraham when he wasn't looking so chances are he was a bit dizzy if anything) he falls to his left and puts his other hand up to his face then slumps on the canvas twitching. He was obviously subconsciously trying to put his hands up and get to his feet as so many boxers do when they are knocked out/down. The fact that he was so upset and thought he had lost when he eventually came too should end this whole ridiculous, offensive conversation about whether this ultra-competitive athlete faked being knocked out in front of his family and friends in the biggest fight of his life when he was winning comfortably. I'm sorry, but anyone who actually thinks that Dirrell faked it doesn't know what the hell they are talking about and are quite frankly lacking intelligence and perspective. Hope Dirrell recovers and he doesn't carry any long lasting effects from this.
Andrade has out he regain his senses when he was half way down and grabbed Bute by the waist . THE GUY STOOD UP AND FOUGHT.
I've never boxed or been in a fight? I knocked a guy out with a knee to his face. He fell backwards immediately, and didn't convulse or go stiff. Im not saying that's not possible, but do me a favor, don't say what I've done in my life when you don't know me. Dirrells late reaction was very late. Dirrell moved his head, then his arms a few times before "convulsing"
If he gets hit with a solid shot and it effects him but not enough for him to discontinue the fight...I can see why it'd be smart to stay down. But to act knocked out, start shaking, fake memory loss, and then cry in the center of the ring? That I can't defend.
If Dirrell was seriously hurt, Im sorry for doubting him, I hope he recovers as well. But to the rest of your post, Im done replying to people who feel the need to insult on opinion based threads.
Andrade got hit 12 rounds by Bute (well 11 to be fair), than got hit bad for 3 rounds in the rematch before collapsing from a short left that he never saw coming, it wasent a hard shot. The shot that put Andrade down in the rematch (the first kd) was not in the top100 of hard shot he receives in his career. Ur opinion is ****, right punch + right timing/moment = you go down, plan and simple.
