Boxing isn't as good as it used to be is because it's not as brutal as it used to be. For 95% of aspiring boxers it's frankly a stupid way to attempt to make a living, and people these days know that.
Don't worry, boxing will outlive you as it has many crybabies that have openly and proudly cried "Boxing is on the verge of death".
Why is the price increasing? Ever thought about that? It's not to match inflation and i dont expect you to understand economics. It's because the demand is there to meet the price point. In simple language, it's because the public interest in these big fights are increasing, which is exactly what would happen if boxing were NOT dying. And it isnt.
The problem with boxing is the non existent promotion of the sport. People think it is growing because of the 20,000 crowd at Floyd - Canelo. Well when Dempsey fought Tunney the attendance was 120,000.
Someone in another thread similar to this pulled up articles from every decade since about the 1920's saying boxing was dieting and would soon be dead. Still here :good
Yet fans and pundits have been saying just that for about a century now - even in the so-called great eras of the sport. It's called nostalgia my friend.
How long has the death of boxing being pridicted, Once Ali goes who will take over Then once Leonard and co go who will their be Then what will happen when Tyson goes When DLH goes When Mayweather n Pac go ect Listen boxing is actually growing, not in America but around the world, you only have to look at the crowds attracted in the UK, Germany, Canada has had some big numbers with Bute and Stevenson now, Still some quality talent coming through guys who can be big names, Canelo, Broner, D Garcia, M Garcia, Thurman, Fury, Frampton ect guys who will all likely be big crossover stars for the sport, boxing isn't dead at all not by a long long shot

Sadly, I think it will decline because of the influx of white Europeans and Asians who are slowly dominating the sport. American fans are notoriously xenophobic and seem to hate any boxer who isn't black and American. Hence, whilst the white Europeans continue to dominate the higher weight divisions and the Asians continue to dominate the lower weight divisions; American support will wane. I mean, they're clinging on with all their might to the Welterweight and Light middleweight divisions and are that desperate for a "great black hope" to win a Heavyweight title again they're cheering for a mediocre talent such as Deontay Wilder of all people.
So boxing is expanding around the world yet is in decline? :huh Maybe in the USA... for the time being anyway...
