In general, there's a lot more respect for Benn than for Eubank.

Most of the press at that Tiberi fight had Toney losing. I couldn't understand the second half of your post, sorry.

 

They were biased towards Tiberi cause he was so brave... And against James and Jackie Callen cause he couldn't finish him off like he would finish Prince Charles Williams in another fight, those were very similar strategies - Williams and Tiberi's, corner Toney and close the distance so that James wouldn't catch em with the monster right hand. That doesn't make ya win fights. The 2nd part is simple: James Toney would respect Joe Calzaghe now but didn't respect Chris Eubank and even Nigel Benn.

 

I seem to remember the launched a federal investigation (or something like that) about that fight?

 

Fed Investigation, never heard anything about it but I remember Eubank being asked a question, meditating about the answer and Toney answering for him "I'm the best!", Rourke laffing out loud, the same Chris who was scared about Steve Collins hypnosis sessions.

Only kidding mate! Eubank was quite honest about the people he avoided (Herol Graham, Michael Nunn) he was quite shameless really!
But Benn often travelled to his opponents backyard.

Oh and Rourk did a lot of drugs in his day but they were for recreational purposes whilst Toney used them to cheat.

Benn travelled a lot and Toney didn't disrespect him as much. Yeah, Toney was caught too many times by now, but I truly believe he can't get down in weight and still compete with the likes of Peter without strength enhancing supplements.
