does ingo connect with his big right "toonder" and does it ko lyle or does lyle shake it off and go to work and ko or decision johannson? this would be an interesting matchup of two big hitters swapping it out center ring.is it just a question of who gets there first or does boxing apply in this war?

Ron Lyle would have been world champion.

Ron would've taken out Ingo by the sixth round.

Johannson by KO. One thing Johannson was, was a puncher. He K0'd Eddie Machen who went the distance with Liston. He TKO.d Floyd Patterson and despite what you may think of Pattersons' chin, he was stopped only a few times. Lyle did not take a great punch and his defense was suspect.

Might go with Johannson and the upset here. Depends if Silvani gets him 100% for the fight and you'd assume Al would have him razor sharp for this guy and he has to. Guys could reach Lyle with right hands and I think that sneaky right hand catches him. Good fight and real good matchup.

  9. what? floyd patterson destroyed johanson, ron lyle was much bigger, much stronger and harder puncher than patterson, and he HAD MUCH BETTER CHIN, lyle took shots from the 2 hardest punchers in the history , earnie shavers and george foreman. he would take the shots from ingo hands down

Wow! this one probably goes to whoever lands that big shot first. I think Ingo has a shot but it would have to happen in the first or second round. After that i'd favor Lyle. Its a virtual toss up for me.

Shavers whom is probably overrated as a puncher but surely hit harder than Johanson landed 1st on Lyle and what happened ?
another thing is that in fairness Johansson lost by DQ vs Eddir Machen , he only stopped Floyd Patterson and even then was stopped by him twice in return .
Johanson stands a very small chance at winning this .
    Lyle wins .

Earnies not really noted for his chin. I'd make Lyle the favorite but not clear cut at all. Lyle wasn't that good.

I think Johansson would win by KO.
