Interbox - we will decide Froch's next opponent, we get the winner

Discussion in 'British Boxing Forum' started by HMSTempleGarden, May 29, 2012.

  1. There's a thread in the general quoting bute that he wants the rematch and its in the contact it has 2 be in montrial . Even after the fight in the ring side interviews the first thing eddie said was we are contracted to a rematch - god knows what else was aggreed 2.

I suspect it would need to be inserted in any contract between Froch and the other fighter. It can be a condition of Matchroom signing an interim bout.

Not exactly law-suit worthy, but Bute's people could waive it.

Wouldn't surprise me if Kessler was alluded to as the potential opponent.

And let's be honest, if you can beat Froch are you going to be too worried about Bute?

I bet the contract is more water tight than a K2 contract, and that's saying something

The clause kinda works for all 3 if you think about.

    1) Bute probably felt if he was to lose it would be on the scorecards, not by humiliation in front of a global audience. :yep

    2) Froch who is on good terms with Kessler was probably happy that if he beat Bute he could get it on with the Dane before Canada as an optional extra.

    3) Kessler would be happy that if Froch beat Bute he got to face him and may even have said he'd go to Canada if he beat Froch.

    Haha!

That's it, I can't see it being anyone but Kessler as the next opponent.

Bute's latest interview with Romania press:

"From my point of view I'm gonna lay everything down, I'll give everything for this rematch. Don't know if it will be Montreal or Bucharest the contract says we must fight in Montreal, Canada. But there is a possibility that it could be Bucharest. For me Bucharest or Montreal means Home.
I really wish I could fight on National Arena were there gonna be 50 000 places but in the same time if I'll fight in Montreal I'll still be at home."

I'm sure I read that if the fight ended before the 6th round concluded, there was no rematch clause

I'm sure I read that if the fight concluded in the fifth round and Bute was near to being knocked out, the fight would be ruled a NC and Froch would have to carry Bute all the way home.
