Didnt Tillery kick bowe in response to Bowe hitting after the bell. Think they had a bit of a skirmish then Rock Newman pulled Tillery over the top rope by the head

This bout is the record for a World Title bout, BUT the all-time record is when Battling Nelson stopped Christy Williams in 17 rounds. Nelson knocked Williams down 42 times and he was also dropped 7 times himself (some sources have 9), for a record total of 49 knockdowns.

His name was Tippy Larkin, not Timmy. I told this story several times over the years and I even told it in front of 250 people, including Tippy himself, who I brought to the affair.

When Tippy passed away, I gave the Eulogy. Larkin won the Jr. Welterweight title on April 29, 1946, when he beaty Willie Joyce.

Dempsey weighed more in several bouts, including on 200 when he fought Tom Riley on March 25, 1918 and 198 when he fought Carl Morris on February 4, 1918.

Everyone worth his boxing salt knows this one but it is interesting.
It's amazing that from May of 1959 until March of 1966 (almost seven [7] years!) there was only ONE fighter involved in a World Heavyweight Championship fight outside of Patterson - Johansson - Liston - Clay/Ali!

Batting Nelson fought Christy Williams in Arkansas, he was Knocked Down 9 times but rose each time to win the fight by KO in the 17th round. Along the way, he knocked down Williams 42 times!

    Jofre and Pryor were vegetarians.

Lamark Clark holds the record for consecutive KO (44)
