I suspect Hopkins might have ruined Pavlik....

We'll see on that score. My gut instinct is you're right, and Pavlik has been getting in scrapes out of the ring too hasn't he?

However Margarito - a slow starter - totally turned up the heat on Williams, and Margy is a straight up and down fighter, he's no 'box puncher'.

So I think Pavlik could force Wiliams into a shell in the second half of the fight, or eventually stop him with right hands...the caveat being that Pavlik might have lost a lot...

Williams is another guy though who fights very good oppo. Fair play to him. Not my favourite fighter by any means but a bloody effective one. He needs to settle on a division.

    Very good fight in prospect.

As much as I hate Pavlik, I'm picking him to win by KO at this moment....BUT I think if williams can take pavlik's best power shots....Then I think Kelly could be in trouble......If Williams chin holds up I think he could outpoint Pavlik.....but something tells me Pavlik can hurt Williams....

I think this is a horrible styles match up for Kelly. I'll take speed/volume over power/basic for £200. Whats worst is the knocks on Paul can go double for Kelly. Word on the street is Paul gets caught with shots he shouldnt take.....if thats the case Kelly gets hit with whole firing squads. Plus the corner advantage goes to Paul by default. I can already hear "WORK THE DOUBLE JAB KELLY!" Best part about this fight is all the Ying Yang talked about can Paul take a middleweight punch will be Answered.

Can't wait for this fight and I'm happy Williams has finally been given his big name opponent that he has deserved for so long. If Williams can take Pavlik's punches then I think he will be able to box his way to a comfortable UD and I think Williams will be able to take Kelly's shots. Therefore Williams UD and hopefully he will get the recognition he deserves.

I still think this is going to be a tough test for Williams, I rate him but he's going to be fighting the number 1 middleweight and a proper middleweight for the first time.

I hope he pulls it off though. There is also a lot of potential for a class ring entrance here, full on ghostbusters outfit and theme tune please :D

Pavlik has a clause for a rematch, I don't know if it takes Williams north to 64 like Jermain taylor got inked in his Rematch clause with Pavlik.

Still not sure on the logic of Taylor going up 4 lbs to catchweight with the taller Pavlik, but I wouldn't be surprised if Arum uses this little "float" against Williams.

Get a HD copy of the first 6 rounds on the Williams vs. Margarito fight. Turn up the surround sound and just listen to the sound of those jabs/cannons launched. Now add 2 yrs of experience/slickness/boxing IQ/lesson from Quintana 1/muscle memory and confidence from Quintana 2/filling into your body frame/82 inch wingspan/swagger/volume and the Wink look of textbook D. Now tell me: If Paul Williams doesn't catch the flu on the week of the fight, does "basical jab jab cross reset" have a chance? Neither do I.

I personally believe this is an easy fight for Paul Williams. Pavlik is a strong, gutsy fighter but he's pretty one dimensional and comparitively slow.
Even before the B-Hop fight I would have favoured Paul, but now I think Pavlik's had a bit of wind taken out of sails, whilst William's confidence is getting higher and higher and he's getting more experienced.

Williams is in the better form - mentally and physically. He'll be too fast, too busy and too sharp in my opinion. I can see this being similar to Mosley-Margarito. Either Williams by wide UD or a stoppage from around the 7th round on.

Pavlik peaked v Taylor. He'll do nothing else. I think Williams will damage him more than B-Hop did.

I wouldnt even say he peaked then. Taylor lost those fights because he doesnt fight smart and he gasses. He has too much nervous energy.
