in an interview with el nuevo dia of PR miguel cotto talked about the punches that he remember taking that hurt him the most.

the first he mentions is a right hand from randall bailey in the second round, he said that he thought that his front teeth had fallen.

another is a left upper to the body that Quintana landed moments before he dropped him for the first time.

he also mentions corley and torres, but he doesn't say anything about margo:yep.

Why should he? Margarito was hitting him with clubs, not punches.......he was cheating....you should not acknowledge a cheater.:think

Cotto's and honest guy. I dont think Marg's punches hurt him that much. It was more of Cotto being tired from the constant movement and then the accumalation of bricks he was hit with. But to get off topic a little bit why is Cotto so underrated on this site. I cant wait till Nov 15 the day after. There will be no denying Cotto's greatness after he destroys Pac.:bbb

Mentioning Margarito would defy the purpose of the question. He was asked who punched the hardest, not who hit him the hardest with a cast.

In other interviews he has stated that Margarito shots were as other fighters previously which he has fought. It was more of his conditioning, hardly couldn't breath, esp with the constant bleeding through his nose and mouth. He also said it seem that Margaritos punches were feeling harder as the rounds progress though:D. Until this day he still says Margarito was the better condition man. Clottey agrees in a recent interview also mentions Margaritos punches were less of an impact and felt less than when he fought Cotto, because he was able to see Margaritos from all angles and didnt have such an impact. As to Cotto they felt much harder, them being the same size and reaching him faster and that being the reason he didnt attack Cotto a little more in the last few rounds. He had to respect Cotto's power, didnt want to get caught with one of them in the last rounds.:good
