I don't know how anyone can dislike Lemieux. A really, really fun fighter to watch. Anyone with as much power as he has is always going to be fun.

Look forward to his return. He should get in with someone who can give him rounds next. Someone durable. Had he some decent experience of going past 6 rounds before Rubio, he might have fought differently. It's all a learning curve. The same people who overrated him before he lost are now writing him off. He's still a very good prospect.

Everything had been too easy for him and he was still young and immature. Let's hope he trains more seriously now. The kid has tremendous potential.

    i agree.

I think the loss could be the best thing that happen to his career. The top level competition aint no joke. Those guys dont fall over from one shot. His power and some patience will take him a long way. He is far from done...

I think you're right on that. He could fight at 154 pretty easily. The thing is the division is not very exciting. Everyone wants to fight at 147 or 160.

Rubio won that fight on experience and experience alone. Throughout the fight he always looked like he knew exactly what he intended to do. David, not so much. That speaks directly to your point.

Even the fight with Elvin Ayala turned out to be much easier than it looked on paper. However, Brian Vera is close friends with Ayala, and he claimed Ayala had serious problems with weight.

I'm not sure who would fit the bill right now, but David needs a Bronco McKart type opponent; cagey, good boxer, double tough, but beatable. Some guys like McKart, Ornales, Zertuche, et, would do him a world of good at this point. Those guys are all past it now, but I think you can see my point. He needs 3 or 4 fights with guys who will not beat him, but will make him work his ass off for the win.

Hopefully he has learned from that loss and does improve now. He is saying the right things.
It will benefit boxing if an exciting banger like Lemieux hovers around the top of the division.
    Good luck to him.

    :huh

I don't get that expression. A zebra already has stripes. Is it a "two wrongs don't make a right" thing?
