With Macklin teaming up with Roach in the US you would of thought he would of went for Duddy over Lee as a fight. Duddy is a name in the US and Macklin could use that fight more than any other fight to get him in with the best of the division sooner rather than later.

    It would indeed.:good

How many tickets would this fight sell?

I reckon the O2 Arena would be ideal, Unless Andy brings the whole of Limerick with him and they sell out Thormond Park.:D

Limerick v Tipp in Thomond Park during the summer has a ring to it but with floor seats that would be a capacity of in excess 30,000.

I have a question for ya,s would it be possible to get some Irish fighters over to San Diego or Tijuana to fight some Mexican boxers in the same class as them talent wise without having to go through their promoters . I have been down to Tijuana to watch a few fights lately and there are some class fighters down there that you could match up with any of the top lads in Ireland , would it be possible to get a pro team to come over here to fight a Mexican pro team .I know nothing about promotions or the legal end of boxing so forgive me if its a stupid question.

    RUTHLESS MAGEE IS CHAMPION
    http://www.irish-boxing.com/stories/january10/jan10_magee_champion.html

Missed the fight live [raging] but Sky+ it, and watched it without knowing the result. Magee was faultless, but it's fair comment when people say Larsen has seen better days. Magee who is without a major promoter should remedy that now, and put on a couple defences of his title in Belfast.

Good email slapbangwallop to Bunce, I read a similar post to that somewhere on this thread.:hey

I never saw Setanta show because I has the Danish TV stream so missed out on al the Bunce-McCloskey banter. I sent him about 10 questions in total and posted on a few other forums to get others to send questions in so that Setanta saw that there was a latent untapped demand for Irish boxing.
Which but of mine did he read out hombre?
    Adios, ya dose!

    Prizefighter Light-middleweights line-up confirmed

PRIZEFIGHTER returns later this month with the first ever light-middleweights competition.

The event, which will be staged at the York Hall in Bethnal Green, east London, will be held on Friday, February 26.

The eight-man line-up includes the usual mix of talented, undefeated prospects and former champions including Ex-Commonwealth Champion Bradley Pryce and former British belt holder Neil Sinclair.

Seven fighters have been confirmed and the eighth spot will be offered to the winner of the Martin Concepcion v Kevin Hammond bout, which takes place on February 5 in Nottingham.

Eddie Hearn, Matchroom Sport’s Managing Director, was expecting another hugely entertaining evening of Prizefighter boxing on February 26.

“It’s another stunning line up for Prizefighter as more and more champions want to be involved,” said Hearn.

“We’re back at the York Hall – the home of British boxing – where it will be a guaranteed sell out and a great atmosphere.

“Once again it’s a mix of former champions trying to reignite their careers and young guns looking to make a big name for themselves but, as always, there can only be only one winner.”

This will be the tenth Prizefighter event where four quarter-finals, two semi-finals and the final, each lasting a maximum of three rounds, take place in one thrilling evening.

A successful night at Prizefighter can transform a boxer’s career with many of the previous winners going on to fight for major titles.

The Prizefighter contenders are Prince Arron (Droylsden, Manchester), Danny Butler (Bristol), Brett Flournoy (Birkenhead, Merseyside), George Hillyard (Canning Town), Steve O’Meara (West Drayton, Middlesex), Bradley Pryce (Newbridge, Wales) and Neil Sinclair (Belfast).

Tickets cost £30 and £50 and can be bought from Matchroom Sport on 01277 359900. All the action will again be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

The winners of the previous Prizefighter events were… Heavyweights 1 – Martin Rogan, Heavyweights 2 – Sam Sexton, Welterweights – Michael Lomax, Middleweights – Martin Murray, Light-heavyweights – Tony Oakey, Lightweights – Ryan Brawley, Cruiserweights – Ovill McKenzie, Heavyweights 3 – Audley Harrison, Light-welterweights – Gavin Rees.

What a top bloke Buncey is I sent a email in to Setanta on Saturday night which he didn't read out but the man himself replyed to it there today. Not too many people would do that but Buncey is the man who goes that bit extra for the fans. I know he comes on here from time to time but fair play for taking the time.

He's spot on with the E-Mails and he gets a fair few, Gotta respect the guy for making the effort to keep in touch with the fan's. Funniest E-Mail i got from Buncey was when Cotto was fighting Jennings in the Garden and Buncey told me his secret wish was for Mick Jennings to "Smash cotto to Bits"

any news after this weekends boxing events on an announcement on Bernard Dunnes future? Jason Booth was made Rendall munroes mandatory for the EBU - a fight that's highly unlikely to happen. It will probably force Maloney to finally bite the bullet and send Munroe on for a(nother) world title eliminator match. Anyone fancy Dunne-Booth for the EBU title?
