Cheers:good Yeah I though Hyland's defence was very poor, he will need to tighten that up if he gets in with better opponents in the future
Kenna did well to go the distance. He was breathing out of his arse after 3 rounds. Honestly I never thought he'd do the distance. Fair play to him he kept pushing himself forward. Thats one thing about the lads boxing at domestic level. They don't cheat you. Every boy in there tonight was willing to push themself to the limit. Nobody came to hide or anything like that
Thats fair enough but everyone is entitled to a bad night at the office and he did put the guy away,Maybe he underestimated Coveny (i know i did). A fight with Lyndsey would be a very diffrent affair with both men well up for it, it would be a thriller and a hard one to call.
I was in the pub watching the highlights of the Healy fight with Fitzgerald and with only a couple of days notice he put up some fight. If he was given longer notice I think he would have the beating of Fitzgerald. The attendence didn't look too good considering the weekend involved I couldn't afford to get there ******* valentines day what a ****ing joke. Hyland nice KO but I think the pressure got to him a bit fighting live on RTE. Hopefully the other brothers get some more coverage with RTE. They could do the brothers all boxing on the same card in the stadium and I think it will now fill it up once they are fighting decent fighters. Maybe this could be a bill that Peters will put on in the future and try and get 1 of the lads a European title fight to headline it.
He should have said " I'm giving you one more round" the round before if he knew he was going to stop it as a professional courtesy
sometimes he turns up looking fantastic and others he just folds I was glad to see he put it to fitzgerald last night fight was alot closer than the score card suggested... Fitzy wants a fight with spike for the middleweight title (he better hope storm promotions doesnt get in there first)
I thought Murray was excellent last night, really starting to show what he can do. With bigger fights he'll continue to improve.
It was a good performace alright but I'm not going to get carried away. ***an, as much of a warrior as he is, has very little skill. Murray let himself get punched with that overhand right far two many times. Against a better opponent he would be punished for it. Offensively he was very good. Wasted very little punches once he got into his stride after the first round. He still has time to improve. Hopefully he will be less reckless in his next bout.
Agreed, was at The Stadium last night. The best night I have ever had there watching pro boxing. Murrays good to go again soon, so Peters shouldnt fart about in arranging Murrays next move, but it wont be for the European title proper as Englands John Murray is no.1 contender for that title and John Murrays promoter has won the purse bids for that fight.:deal
