7-1 , he looked a bit too cocky almost at the start and kept gettin caught with silly shots , yafai was picking his shot well and had a tight guard , think nevin boxes much better on the backfoot as opposed to coming forward which he was doing in this fight

any news on the McCloskey presser lads???

Also i was talking to Willie Casey today (have to say anytime you talk to that lad you feel better he is a sound bloke) and he was saying that he is finding it hard to book a venue for a big home coming in Limerick. He is finding hard because of his 'name, culutural backround and the place were he is from'.

I think that is a disgrace. really a disgrace. We could look back at this similar to the way the yanks have to look back at how they threated Ali after he won the Olmypics! I know prizefighter and the Olympics are not the same but threating a lovely bloke who done his country proud like that is a disgrace!

Just back from the presser. McCloskey looks pumped up for Friday night.

The other three fights have now got confirmed opponents:

Jamie Conlan v Delroy Spencer 4 rounder
Gavin Rees v Sam amoako 6 rounder
Andy Murray v Jon Baguley 6 rounder

The weigh in is at the Park Plaza Hotel at Belfast International Airport at 3pm tomorrow.

Jon Baguley is a decent opponent for Murray, He recently stopped Vinny Mitchel in 4 rounds and gave Kevin O'Hara a real tough night

Brilliant stuff by Donovan, first senior international medal I think. Good old Georgian TV. Five European medals is some achievement. (Still thought Nevin looked a class act too, even in defeat.)

PS Unbelievable that re Willie Casey, hopefully the local media will get on to it and sort it out.

PPS Just spotted Sport at 7 radio special on rte.ie with Jimmy Magee and Barry McGuigan, 25 years after his world title. Should be better than that crap last night.

I agree. Plus Rees has a good fight on his hands against Amoaka - who gave McAllister a good fight for the Commonwealth Title.

    Excellent card on Friday night:good

That's a disgrace. I am really disgusted to hear that. Casey comes across as a real down-to-earth lad - I hope his manager or some in the trade can help him out with that.

Well lads. More fresh stuff up on Irish-boxing than you could shake a stick at. Steve's interview with Frampton and McGuigan. I was chatting to Pat Magee and a few pressers as well. Where is my shaking stick?
