overrated my arse Prunty does exactly what he says on the tin! He's the cash cow of irish boxing and ontop of that hes an unstoppable freight train from hell!
I don't think anyone believes Casey will land a world title, but the Irish and EU titles are his to win (assuming Brickfists doesn't get there first) and getting to Euro level is a possibility. Prunty will be p4p top ten in less than 2 years. If anything, he is underrated.
Same here Jonny.........ive seen the error of my ways and am fully rehabilitated ........ i now feel i am a better person
MEGA CARD FOR SEPTEMBER Thursday, 01 July 2010 10:19 Iain Axon This content is protected Frank Warren has announced one of the most ambitious fight cards ever seen in Britain. The recession-busting, title-fight extravaganza takes place on September 18 at the LG Arena in Birmingham. It features a world title eliminator, three European title fights, two British title fights plus two championship showdowns for two 2008 Olympians. Warren formally announced the card which is a throw-back to the mega Full Monty and Full Monty II shows in Sheffield a decade ago - at a press conference in London today. The title fights in full are: * Matt Macklin in a challenge against Darren Barker for the European middleweight title * European light-heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly in a world title eliminator * Enzo Maccarinelli in a defence of his European cruiserweight title * Ryan Rhodes in a defence of his European light-middleweight title * A British and Commonwealth heavyweight title showdown between Derek Chisora and Sam Sexton * The long-awaited British welterweight title fight between Kell Brook and Michael Jennings * A first defence for WBA International super-middleweight champion James DeGale * A debut championship fight for 2007 Amateur World Champion Frankie Gavin * A return for former Commonwealth super-flyweight champion Don Broadhurst Im delighted to putting on a card like this, said Warren. I always try and please the fans, and I think they will like this one. It is fantastic to be back promoting huge shows on a Saturday night, and there is no way better way to start than by putting on something like this. It will showcase some of the best talent around at the moment in British boxing, and I think everyone featured on the card has the potential to kick on and fight for a world title. Some of the boxers like Enzo Maccarinelli, Michael Jennings Ryan Rhodes have already done that and are aiming to get back to the top, while the likes of James DeGale, Nathan Cleverly and Kell Brook could be the future of the sport in this country.
MACKLIN RELISHES BARKER CHALLENGE Thursday, 01 July 2010 16:23 Iain Axon This content is protected Matt Macklin says he'd rather beat up Darren Barker than take a world title eliminator. Macklin challenges for his old European middleweight title against London rival Barker on September 18 at the LG Arena in Birmingham. And he's taken the fight rather than take a step closer to the IBF title. "There's a bit of history between us, and it's definitely a fight I wanted to get out of the way," said Macklin. "I could have had the eliminator, but I've got a point to prove against Darren. "He's team had quite a lot to say about me when I was British champion and he was down to fight me. "It didn't come off for one reason or another, but now we've got the chance to get it on. "He struggled in his last fight, and all he has beaten is a string of B-list opponents. "Everyone said he looked world class when he beat Danny Butler to lift the British title, but he defeated a 22-year-old kid who took the fight at 24 hours notice. "He's in with a real fighter now and I'm looking forward to the chance of finally shutting him up once and for all."
