Fra, Brian Peters' card is looking good - Macklin v Gibbs could be a cracking fight, methinks. As for Tommy Egan, haven't talked to him since the interview. When I know more, you guys will know more. From what I can gather, an official announcement will be made in the next week or so about the show. TV3 is a definite, I know that much. Sorry I couldn't be of much more help.
Hello Cormac I asked around and found out that Belfast Promotions[team Allio] are running their professional show on Saturday May 31st at Shorts Social Club in east Belfast. Scott Belshaw will headline, with Luke Wilton, Willie Thompson and Kevin Maxwell on the undercard.Another two bouts will make up the remainder of the card.:good
According to Gerry Callan in today's Star newspaper John Duddy will make his ring return in seven weeks on June 28th in The Castle, Boston against Charles Howe.......good to here he's gonna be back soon,and the fact that he's finished with Don Turner aswell....
good to see duddy back in the ring, does anyone know why he's so focused on pavlik when surely strum or abraham would be safer fights

Has there been anymore news about the possiblity of Pat Burns (Jermain Taylor's old trainer) training Duddy? Or any other possible trainers John's camp is thinking of bringing aboard?

Fra, Was talking to Spike O'Sullivan this morning. I'll be doing an interview with him for Cormac's site next month or the next after that, space permitting. Jesus, for a fella only three fights in, he puts in some training. He has a gruellling work schedule outside of boxing, and still finds the time to run up and down hills in the morning and at night, etc. The most dedicated I've seen in a while. To steal a Junior Soprano soundbite: "Strong as a ****in' bull, and handsome, like George Raft." He could make the big-time if he keeps that same intense devotion to boxing, added with a bit of luck. Top fella also, he finds time to train the youngsters in Mahon to keep them out of strife and keep them fit. Mahon is a tough, tough neighbourhood in Cork, it can do with as many community-based leaders as it can get - so good on him for that alone. He wants to be kept busier, for sure. That, and quality sparring, are his two big ambitions short-term. No chance of him being put off boxing though, it's a real life mission for him since he was six-years old to become champion of the world. He'll be a huge part of the TV show in Cork, guaranteed. The fanbase alone he brings ensure that. Top of the bill? I don't know, but he'll be there or there abouts anyways. Egan is very keen on him.
