I think Alvarez is good but people are getting carried away a bit. He gets hit a lot by slow fighters in Cotto and Baldomir, even hurt by cotto a lightweight. Hes good but he shouldnt be rushed

Alvarez and o'donnell are both stayin at 147 . i think o'donnells speed could cause him problems . i no jod was knocked out before but he was not 100percent goin into that fight on the mayweather - delahoya undercard he didnt want to pull out and paid for it . it would be a good fight in the future

They have done well and it shouldnt be underestimated how hard it is to go down the route that they have gone, trying to run shows with minimal income. The Hyland shows, the Alio shows, in fact anyone that puts up the bond to put on a small hall show deserves respect.

The partnership of McGuigan and Frampton is a great fit. Frampton has all the tools, is an impressive all round boxer and can bang on top of that. McGuigan is not just a promoter, he is a brand, and his name will make it easier to draw sponsors and to talk with tv.

I cannot comment on the ability of the Hylands because I have never seen any of them fight live. I have seen Carl fight live twice and I was convinced after even the first showing that he is world class.

I have seen Acosta fight once live and I was very impressed with him, in fact I think he is the best of the three Cork-based Cubans. He has blistering hand speed and a superb variety of angles when he unleashes his combinations.

He also looked like he had excellent fitness and conditioning. The weaknesses of Acosta were that he had a leaky defence, particularly when he got pushed onto the backfoot - I am not sure how good he is going backwards - that would be one clear advantage that Carl would have over him. I also believe that Carl hits harder than Acosta. Overall, i think Frampton would beat him and with his style probably stop him late - but it would be a tough and dangerous fight.

After seeing Luis Garcia in Dublin last week, and previously being a little sceptical despite the praise, I am now a believer. He has the tools to go all the way.
