Macklin is quoted as saying Peters has been in touch with Sylvester's people. 'Pirog is another possibility. So too is a voluntary defence of my Euro title.'
I'd guess Barker has to figure in there somewhere again, no? Further quotes: 'Sylvester ain't that special, not much flair there. Pirog is better. Sturm is past it. Williams is a blown-up light-middleweight as is Sergio Martinez.' etc etc
I somehow doubt he'll get Pirog this side of the Atlantic the americans are going mad for him after the Jacobs fight and if Lee and Duddy is going ahead that might only leave Sylvester!
:deal I wanna see all those hyping up Barker humbled. Nothing against Barker but it will finally shut up those saying he is the top man in Britain and Ireland.
Lee and Magee possible Allen Green Opponents http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/other_sports/boxing/view/20100926super_six_powers_drained/
Sylvesters fighting Oct. 30th. Id be surprised if he went straight from that into a fight as tough as Macklin. Sturm is promoting himself now, If warren put a big wad under his nose hed probably come over. Much tougher fight though
True, it would raise his stock a lot a silence some of Lee's doubters. It's just Macklin is a lot more realistic.
Macklin would be better off fighting some decent european guys to prepare for a possible fight vs Sylvester. I would have suggested Oral but he's fighting Sylvester in October.
That would be a tremendous opportunity for one of the lads, and surely both would jump at the chance. Magee could do the job
