So how far can he go?, i never been overly impressed with Murray but it looks like he is rising to the challenge as he steps up in class. Its also good to see that he has some resolve and composure after hitting the canvas for the first time.
Is a european title a real possibility, especially if John Murray vacates?

Murray is one boxer I've never really got what the craic was about. He showed something different in coming through to win after being decked last night. I still don't see anything particularly good about him. He's definitely the tortoise rather than the hare. I just don't know if his slow, steady and safe style is enough to get him anywhere. I think an EBU title would be a huge achievement for him.

Personally I think he gets torn to shreds if he goes up a couple of levels.

I thought Hyland was really good in some rounds and **** poor in others. He dropped 4 rounds on my card against a fairly moderate opponent. The KD put some gloss on the scorecard at the end of the fight.

He's a hard one to figure out. He might be the type to thrive when being thrown in at the deep end. Maybe he fights to the level of his opponent sometimes. Anyway, I'd like to see him moved along now.

Lol no I'm not saying Lee is "afraid" but that said - I'd rather he took a couple of south paws, and a higher level of opposition before he fights Martinez. I mean come this March- just don't think he is ready.

reading between the lines I think you just don't rate him. As a figther and to the average joe he is not going to give off the same level as appeal as someone like Duddy. Murray is almost the complete opposite to Duddy as afighter. They both had amateur pedigree but Murray is much safer and takes no risks. He is defintiely a boxer that works his defense and likes to get in and out of range with the emphasis on having a good defensive set up. I think it is refreshing to watch Murray because although I love the brawlers and punchers we have a few of them now (casey, duddy and up until recently ***an). Murray might not appeal to everyone though and I can understand that.

If I didn't rate him completely I'd come right out and say it paddymickey. I don't think he's all that good but I feel like I might be missing something. He's better than I ever thought he'd be but I never thought he'd be that good.

I appreciate his style but I just don't think he's good enough at his chosen style of boxing to go much further. I'd love to be wrong but I just don't see anything in him that inspires me. That said, good heart last night not caving in after the KD because he took some serious shots after that happend too.

The positive that I took from Murray's performance last night was his toughness and durability. Along with his nice compact boxing skills that will stand him in good stead.

If John Murray vacates, I definitely think Andy will pick up the title. If Murray is stays the champ, Andy still has a chance, but he needs a couple of good 12 rounders to get his ready for that.

Buckland did really good, but I think it was just a perfect shot more than anything. Sykes as turning into it, never knew what hit him. I think Sykes could do better over a 12 rounder, mind himself for the 1st and not get caught like that.

Matthews looked worn for the final alright, he was shaky at times in the 2nd round with Choi.

Good prizefighter overall, even though I'd bet the house on Sykes after the first round. Sickened.

What I liked about him was his chin. We know he's a compact box fighter, skilful, fit and a pressure fighter but we hadn't seen his chin tested by a banger - now we have and we know he has a serious set of whiskers.

I personally think he's so classy but the lack of power will stop him going too far.

How is he better than you "ever thought he'd be"?
How bad did you think he was? Journeyman? Worse?

He was a three-time senior amateur champion and regularly picked up best boxer awards at Multi Nations.

If he was on the High Performance as it is now, he'd be a possible Olympic medallist in my opinion, given his pedigree.

So he's classy as f**k. But that lack of pop is his undoing. Would John Murray have taken Lacerda out of there? I think he might have, not that he's a big banger himself.

I thought Andy boxed better against Nolasco and ***an than he did here, he got tagged quite a bit against the Brazilian but he still boxed very well.

Could it be that his level of opposition is better than it's being given credit for? He boxed the ears off ***an, who many were bigging up and who has mixed in very, very good company.

Have to sy I thought Murray boxed lovely on Saturday in patches. He landed some lovely straight rights and has a stiff jab, not all action but is accurate and skillful if not stylish!

He jumped up quicker than he fell down too! and took a savage right at the end of the first! Never meet or more laid back fighter either

Fair play to Healy though cracking left hook and he is now two weight champion!
