You dont have any right to disrespect Duddy, How Dare you! Nobodys allowed to be annoyed by Duddys early retirement.

Have to say I think this is a bit of a ****ish move from Duddy towards Lee, Lou DiBella and the fans. If you believe most reports DiBella had to fight to get a second fight on that HBO date, Lee thought he was going to get his big break. Irish fans were looking forward tyo this so much and some unfortunate souls had already booked their flights. While I wish Duddy all the best in retirement I think hes handled this terribly

Maybe all the talk of the fight has still gotten Lee's name out there a bit more, especially with the Irish who would have been Duddy's fans. Hopefully he can still get a good opponent and get his HBO spot.

Also, all the best to Duddy, never got to see him live, but I loved watching his fights.

I think it would have been a ****ish move if he had of continued fighting, despite having no desire, and as a result robbing the fans. If anything, I've gained a bit of respect for him(if it was possible). He used his head, he has a family after all, getting unnecessarily punched in the head wont do him any good.

Manfredo Jr is being talked about for Duddy's replacement bt Di Bella. Good fight for Lee if it happens, a tougher fight than Duddy.

You all should be proud that the Irishmen has enough pride in himself, and in his heritage, to not just go out there for the paycheck and fleece the fans of their money but rather realise (big deal that its been a week since the fight was signed, its not like its a week away) that he didnt have it anymore, and that he doesnt want it anymore, and be open and caring enough to issue the statement he did.

He showed that the Irish, even when failing to reach world class ability or skills, always still bring world class toughness and heart.

Exactly. He handled things intelligently. He turned down what, like 100k(?) because he was honest with himself and realised he didn't want it anymore. It's admirable if you ask me.

:good Just gutted, this one has been cooking a few years. Perhaps better off, I felt Lee would win their fight and maybe preferable he launches himself into the big time (if he can) against someone else's boy.

Im not disrespecting him. If it were me and I was working on a site and someone offered me 100,000 dollars for a fight I would do it. Best of luck to Duddy anyway in the future.

I don't accept that Tommy O C. Yes we were all looking forward to this and it is unfortunite if people have spent money on flights but I would not put that on Duddy's head.

It's dissappointing for Lee who has been unluckly a few times lately and would have been his confirmation into the big time but not if Duddy could not bring the challenge.

Duddy has been wrong footed since the McLaughin breakup and not had the right direction since then.

Duddy put Irish men and Iriah boxing back on the sence in New York and America and the door is still open for others,

I respect Duddy's decision and wish him well.

Irish boxing is about to take off and i'm hoping it's going a long way, and if it does remember Duddy helped to get it started.

Fair play to Duddy hope he enjoy's his retirement and makes the most of it. Great to see both himself and Bernard Dunne leaving the game with their health in tact and not financially troubled. I think all the money in the world isn't worth jeopardising your health if you ask me.
