I have heard other nations complain about bias in the amateur section, it is definitely vindicated. Why give them your money, cancel the ****.
I was shouting ring side- couldn't help it-but i wasn't that bad- but David Kelly, went mad in the press conference, but David is close to Paul and like everyone upset, he is a true gent and a great writer. Gerry had a bit of a go and defended David. I was shocked in the after presser that all the wanted to talk about was Bradley- bar one or two English reporters (the bloke with the long hair ah sure what was his name?he asked some very good cut based questions) they were all saying congrats whats next- seemed they didnt want to upset golden boy too..

What a stupid thing to say, McCloskey's profile has never been higher here in Ireland. Maidana, Judah and Prescott names have all been mentioned as potential opponents for " the damaged goods that is now Paul McCloskey"atsch. The problem with Boxing News is that they poo-pooed the McCloskey-Khan contest from the offset,so were trying to save face, when their ill founded predictions were found to be ludicrous. David Kelly is one of Ireland's best boxing writers, and as the press conference shows he has a real passion for the sport, which goes beyond collecting a pay cheque at the end of the week.On the other hand, the whole Khan/GBP group proved themselves to be a bunch of scummy underhanded chancers, devoid of morality and any sense of fair play. The very same qualities seemed to have been adopted in the offices of Boxing News.I'm sure Harry Mullan is turning in his grave.
Jonny, you could clearly hear in the post-presser all of the Bradley questions were asked by the English journos. After the way that fight finished, it was lame. As I said a few days ago, very well done to all the Irish journo's at that presser, at least they have the balls to call Goldenboy out on his bull****.
I know. It was totally unnecessary. The irony is Herbert had a go at the Irish journalists, whilst he cheerleaded Goldenboy and Khan - he has proved that when it comes to the big promoters Boxing News bend their knee and bow their heads like subservient little lambs.:deal
What does the dude look like? I met two Nordie brethren on Press Row - one was about 30, black hair, 5'11 and not a million miles dissimilar to Eamonn O'Kane the other was an entirely different looking chap - high pitched voice, maybe 25-35, light coloured hair and the most baby face I've ever seen on a man past puberty. Neither of the two guys I described are in this picture, nor is Herbert, so I am assuming Kelly isnt either but lets see. This content is protected
I haven't read it yet. But we were well within our rights to question what was going on and still are. Whole thing was a joke. The English questions were indeed all ignoring McCloskey and aimed at Bradley and letting Khan spout bull****. All the while McCloskey sat beside him. I know I tried to be get at Khan when asking him a question and will never apologise for it. Can anyone essentially say what the editorial said about Irish hacks? I'm ****ed if I'm paying to see it. David Kelly was dead on to get so angry, what went on was a disgrace, start to finish - especially to finish.
Yeah why wouldn't local press shout on their man? Even if the rule book says journalists must be objective, a Derry man working for a Derry paper can shout as loud as he likes. It's essentially the same thing as editorial's like BN's, though I haven't seen this issue. Only BN is far more snide and their agenda less shouty - it's still just as obvious to anyone with two eyes.
Khan's a 'deluded dickhead jumping around like he just beaten Floyd Mayweather...' That's the take from Irish Paddy Cronan, great listen if you know where to find it
Ardy, if you are dissapointed why not let them know your views on the issue - This content is protected Maybe some of the House *****s could let them know their thoughts as well.
