I was at the fight. McGuinness won 40-36 and put in a pretty good performance. Hard to know from four rounds how good he is but he won anyway, which at this stage of his career is the main thing.

hey cormac...i read another article...that say banner promotions and irish ropes...r in talks for the oddessey Belfast 2b the venue 4 duddy/philips in early october...and that sky...setanta..and bbc have shown an interest in broadcasting it..cormac ..i take it that peters wont b involved this this promotion...in that case i wonder who irish ropes will fill the undercard with:good

Ardy in truth Haughian is actually ahead of Sinclair in the line for a British title shot . Not only is Stephen a better fighter than the present day version of Sinclair but his record since the time he turned pro(early 2005) is better than Sinclair's within the same period . I think the BBBofC see this and while I'm not sure Sinclair would be accepted as a mandatory, Haughian would and he's definitely closer to forcing a mandatory shot(although that is a long way off at the moment) .

I'd like to see Stephen rematch Grasselini, a match between Haughian and Sinclair would be very good too but I doubt we'll see that .

Thanks Hawks , I think I might know what unforseen circumstances are . A picture was recently put up of all of the fighters that have joined Hayemaker Promotions http://www.southlondon-today.co.uk/tn/Sport.cfm?id=11351 the second guy in that row looks like Martin Lindsay(the tatoo gives it away) and maybe the reason he has pulled out of the fight in Canada is to do with this . The first Hayemaker Promotions bill is going to be sometime in September on Setanta I believe . I hope it doesn't mean the end of Lindsay in Canada as I liked how he was being brought along there and combined with the fights over this side of the Atlantic he was being brought along quietly but quite well .

Decided against going to the Lee card(fairly broke after a music festival the week before) so can't tell you anything about McGuinness .

Lee unlike Dunne seems to be popular all over the country . Some people in my area(Tipperary) never warmed to Dunne due to him being a dub but people seem to love Andy . I was late getting to the pub+club due to me staying at home to watch the fights but apparently the pub section of the place was going mental when the Lee fight was on and nearly all of my friends there had watched it .
