    Nevin's semi-final live on RTÉ

    Thursday, 6 October 2011 13:45
John Joe Nevin's AIBA World Boxing Championship semi-final against England's Luke Campbell will be televised live on RTÉ One from 11:25am on Friday.

Con Murphy will be joined in studio by Bernard Dunne and Mick Dowling for this special programme, which will also be streamed live on RTÉ.ie/Sport to users on the Island of Ireland.
The programme will also be made available on-demand on the RTÉ Player to users on the Island of Ireland.

Nevin's medal creates history as he becomes the first Irishman to win two World Championships medals, having won bronze in Milan two years ago.
In addition to streaming television coverage of John Joe Nevin's semi-final bout, RTÉ.ie/Sport will also be exclusively streaming all the other semi-finals live from 10.50am, including the welterweight semi-final between Egidijus Kavaliauskas of Lithuania and Sapiyev Serik of Kazakhstan.
Kavaliauskas beat Ireland's Roy Sheehan in the last-16 of the competition and if he beats Serik in their semi-final then Sheehan will qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games.
Under the Olympic qualification system in operation in Baku, boxers losing at the last-16 stage in eight of the weight categories from light-flyweight to light-heavyweight will qualify for the Olympic Games if they were beaten by boxers that reach their respective finals in those eight weight classes.
