A Vera rematch would be a great option, but I dont think Vera is that interested.I agree that Lee brings excitment everytime he boxes, his last fight was brilliant.

How big of a win was it for Lee, i wouldn't be a familiar with gibbs or his track record but according to the irish press it was a big victory but they can be as biased as the english press at times (see amir kahn). Would you say he's back on track or has he still making up to do to continue with his progression?

A REMARKABLE STORY POISED FOR ANOTHER EPIC CHAPTER

Well it looks like Sutherland is heading to Britain for his pro career. I have to say that is disappointing to hear. Sutherland could pack out venues here in Ireland, whereas in England he will struggle to get any attention at all to begin with.A fitting compromise would be to train in England and fight in Ireland, but alas money talks.

Interesting article Ardy - I wonder could it be with Barry McGuigan - if so it might mean he would fight here as well as England.

Yeah, I agree Ardy, I thought Darren would have been fighting in Ireland also, preferably Dublin:hey, but hey, its his career, his choice.

It's easy to forget Sutherland was the most hated man in Irish amateur boxing before qualifying for the Olympics. Not by me mind you I always enjoyed his aggressive style.

Granted after the Olympics he would have a big following here, but I reckon he may want to go back and be trained by Brendan Ingle again so that's possibly a factor. Of course there's nothing to stop him fighting over here some of our American based fighters(Duddy and Lee).

I like Sutherland even more that I found out he's doing a Sports Science course, I'm heading over to University in England next week to do the same thing :D

Teeside University in Middlesbrough, and to answer Ardy I haven't any experience in boxing myself yet as a boxing club only started in my town 2 years ago. It's not that well run and considering my commitment to football(soccer) I haven't been able to anything but that.
I had to give up GAA two years ago because of the amount of football so there wasn't really any time to add anything new.

However I do plan to take it up as soon as I get over there, it's something I've always wanted to do really and it's only now I'll properly get the chance.

Should teach me to fight quicker ;), seriously though my sister lives over there(In here last year of psychology) and says that the crime is really just confined to certain areas which you don't really have to frequent.

    Oxford................, ah no fair play.
