from what i know of it he was sending rigondeaux money every month and he agreed to lift rigo out of Cuba (not a cheap thing to do) Also it has been reported that the deal hyde negoiated with goldenboy was much more lucrative than the top rank offer (dan rafael reported this). I have heard it would put him up there with the same kind of money Donaire gets paid..... Look at it this way After the cordoba fight Top Rank did not want to know Rigo Hyde orchestrated the fight with Willie Casey to get the ball rolling. Then Hydes legal team forced Ramos to make the mandatory defense against rigo (no easy feat when you are dealing with an Al Haymon fighter) He also got rigo a stepaside fee to let the Ramos Shimoda fight happen.... Neither of those two shows were promoted by Top Rank... Hyde Negotiated a deal with Top Rank that got rigo an Interim world title shot in his 7th fight (he was already ranked top 10 before he signed with Top Rank so you cant give them credit for that) I have known gary hyde a long time and all i can say is that if anyone is being exploited its him A case of being too good for his own good..... anyone who read dunnes book will see what Bernard didnt have too many kind words to say about Mr Peters...... But all i can say is that does anyone else think that bernard wouldnt have wont a world title if he wasnt managed by peters? Fighters fight but managers are the ones that put the deals in place and protect their investment.... All i will say is if it was so easy to sign Rigondeaux why arent there more guys out there with his name on a contract? Why didnt they all go to cuba and have him lifted out? there is one poster in particular that seems to have a vandetta against hyde I never really reply to him because i know myself that it is unfounded....

This article backs up what i said about the casey and ramos fights... http://ringtv.craveonline.com/blog/174529-rigondeaux-not-out-as-marroquins-opponent here is Rafaels piece where he states that the golden boy off is substantially better than the Top Rank offer http://espn.go.com/blog/dan-rafael/tag/_/name/guillermo-rigondeaux
Are them lads in Australia any use? I saw one of Tony Bates' fights on Youtube and he was just like a 'walk forward' type of fighter. I think it was his second fight and he got him out of there in 3. Ive been hearin about them but haven't seen any of their fights, other than one of Bates'.
Thanks Max Banjo - is the posters name Stevenson1? On the "Rigondeaux update thread" on the main forum it would be great if you could copy and paste this?
no point mate it doesnt matter what gets said those lads wont change their mind! I just wouldnt want people over here whos opinion actually matters thinking hyde was a "leach" or "a robbing scumbag" ect.... Just to put things in context I know you have paid money to see rigondeaux fight (you spent the night in the citywest hotel if i remember rightly) I would say any poster on that thread who wasnt irish has never paid to see rigo fight.... and they probably never will.... so **** them it doesnt matter what you say or tell them it wont change their mind...
dennis hogan has a couple of fights up on youtube seems to be improving every fight and is after dropping down to light middle which seems to suit him alot better than super middle never seen murphy fight i think tj holds a win over frampton in the ams and from the very little ive seen of his first two fights(a small bit of each of his first two fights was on youtube) he's looked very decent all the boys out in aus seem to be fighting very regular(at least 6 fights a year)which is also a good thing
Ive noticed that, on Boxrec they always seem to have a few fights lined up each. Just haven't seen them fight but im hearing alot about them.
he has 3 fights lined up in the next 3 months. Plenty of fighters in Ireland would kill for that activity. Like someone said the other week "losses dont kill a career, inactivity does"
