Well considering Spike has already chinned Brendan Fitzpatrick, I wouldnt be a big fan of seeing them fight. Fitzgerald vs Spike would be a really good, fairly evenly matched fight though, the styles almost guarantee a action.
I think you're getting Fitzpatrick mixed up with Robert Long. Easy enough mistake considering Fitzpatrick was indeed chinned that same night, but by Healy, as mentioned above.
atsch whoops my mistake, it was indeed Robbie Long that Spike Ko'ed, impressive win it was. Still if Healy can stop Fitzpatrick..I reckon spike would have no trouble once he lands a big one.
fitz versus fitz could be more probable cause if spike wins we could see the "we are too far ahead of him to fight him"bull**** that seems to be all over boxing these days. what about jj Mc Donagh he is the Irish champ afterall (i think) and has the skills to beat most.
I actually forgot about JJ McDonagh. I actually thought he was robbed against O'Kane. There are good domestic fights here in Ireland that could all be staged in Ireland rather than having Lee, Macklin, Barker and Murray (which are bigger fights no doubt) taking place in England. These lads in domestic fights here could do wonders for Irish boxing.

Interesting that the guy that beat Brabazon, Janis Cernouskis never fought a guy with a losing record-must be a tough boy.
and another Irish fighter, Damian Taggart in 1 round. One Irish fighter has managed to best him though, Willie Thompson.
