Also mentions an apparently talented irish pro middleweight called Luke Ormond. Kev Byrne apart, the standard of journalism among Irish boxing newspaper columnists is laughable

 

Eamon, who wrote that, is a top bloke and gives boxing good coverage in a paper not too keen on it... He is LUKE KEELER mad (well a big fan at least) so id say it was a typo no way he doesn't know who Luke is, might be right in saying he has given Luke a mention a few times in the Nationals???

Also when talking about columnist kev is top class, but Ciaran Gallagher from the Mail has a great column and Gerry Callan in the star has been brilliant for decades giving the sport coverage every week when no one else did.

 

wat about the coverage given by the belfast newspapers.. which is a lot more extensive than anywhere else on the island:deal... do they not deserve a mention jonny:good

 

Yea Eamon is top man always gives me a mention whenever possible and rings Pascal asking for any updates so obviously just a mix up . Had pleasure of watching Fitzgerald Okane fight in his company and was very knowledgeable about boxing telling me stories from decades ago and scoring the fight exact same as what I taught. :thumbsup

 

Not sure about Hydes but Pascal will have him on our show, repay the favour for my slot on last Drimnagh card.

 

i have heard anto fitz her been offered the fight with heffron in Feb.
would be a good fight imo.

Spike should take the Hassan fight, Irish fighters dont get big fights that often and he would have a chance. Quillin had Hassan down how many times and Spike has a big punch so who knows .
