Lads I know we're all happy about Andy winning but Korobov jabbed him in the face a few times, I'm sure you all agree with me that he should retire now for his own health
Absolutely buzzing! What a finish! Met andy lee as I left the arena, gave him a big hug and got hold his beautiful WBO belt. He is so humble thanked me for coming over for the fight and there was a great atmosphere everyone singing and cheering for lee on the way out out of the arena.
Fantastic win from Lee! Would have been terrible to see him retire having faded away, given how much talent he has. BJS? Macklin? Dare I say it, GGG unification!
A great stopage by Lee only woke up for the round that he ended it in. I guess RTE will have some little bull**** up about his win. Stupid ****ing national station we have 2 World Champions and we rarely hear a word about them down here. I hope that Lee gets to defend his title in Ireland be great against Billy Joe Saunders but wont hold my breath for that. Just hope that he gets a chance to defend his title at home before a BJS fight. Saying that looking at BJS against Eubank Jnr I think Andy has a great chance. BJS seems to fade badly in his fights near the end and Andy seems to be stopping fighters for fun now. I think Adam Booth has done a brilliant job with Andy to take Andy on and win a World title with him is some training feat when we all thought at times Andys time at the top was coming to a end. Well Done Andy.
I'm delighted for Andy, one of boxings classiest guys. Amazing stuff. All he was landing was right jabs, and I was sitting there thinking I like it fine personally what he is doing, but this is not going to do it, he's not doing enough to wear Korobov Down and impress the U.S. officials etc etc But boy does he have the equaliser in that right hook. Andys chin helped too...Korobov landed a big left seconds earlier and was torquing up a right hook of hits own that doubled the impact of Andys bomb. Korobov might have a case for premature stoppage, but then with 311 amateur fights experience behind him why didn't he take a knee??? Congrats to Andy ...fantastic stuff....
Worth noting ..ALL of the "boxing experts" on the staff of the .'scene...said Korobov would win....many by ko!! So much for experts......
