    What's with all the caveats?
Have more confidence in yourself.....and in HNN!

HNN UD is a safe bet. :good

(This "last fight syndrome" is gone beyond the outbreak stage. It's turning into an epidemic.) 😉

We'll find out soon enough in the spring.
Looks like another darren barker job. :!:
I just hope you'll man up and face the music when the inevitable happens with BJS? :thumbsup

Boxers lose because they stay down...something HNN never does.

Fra - to be fair to HNN he is not IMO "chinny" at all. Certainly no more than any other guy anyway. There is a bit more to the Quillin fight than you seem to be taking into consideration.

    1. HNN was going thru major managerial turmoil. His head wasnt right.
    2. He went thru apparently multiple major dental surgeries immediately before the fight.
    3. His style/lack of guard is the problem - not his chin.
    4. Most of the quillin kds were from one and the same punch - the left hook. HNN has since made the necessary adjustment so this is unlikely to happen again.
    5. After the first 2 knockdowns he was desperately chasing the fight - hence the subsequent knockdowns

I would be worried about his chin if he suffered 1 knockdown each time in 6 seperate fights.

But 6 in 1 fight can be explained by the above factors and actually doesnt worry me much at all, at least not regarding his chin.

(FWIW I also say HNN is all wrong for Andy Lee.) :thumbsup

Andy Lee: Plans are already being made for a T****nd Park summer defence

ANDY Lee stepped of the plane to be greeted by hoards of Limerick fight fans this morning- and revealed he could be cheered on by tens of thousands more in his home county come Summer time.
The newly crowned WBO middleweight champion of the World, who greeted fans at Shannon and after a Civic Reception in the City Centre, said plans are already in place for a T****nd Park defence.

“Plans are being made already for a defence in T****nd Park in the summer, a defence of my title. My manager Adam Booth is working on it already.
“It’s been a long journey and it was really my last chance at a world title. I won it and I’m very grateful for it.”
The former Olympian was very excited at the prospect of defending in Ireland. Billy Joe Saunders has been the name most touted, but Lee is open to fighting any big middleweight name.
“It would be fantastic, I’ve been there to watch Munster play so many times.
“I’ve had certain dreams and one of them was winning a world title, the other was stepping off the plane in Shannon and I’m doing those right now and defending my title at T****nd would be another one.”

    thanks for the link

round 1 - 50-50 round, could have gone either way, both could have edged it. 10-10

round 2 - Ward get hit in the ***** in the clinch and is given a standing 8 count wdf:rofl. again tight round ward probebly edged it,only good work Ivanov got in was when Joe ward ****ed from having only 8 secs to recover from a low blow. could have gone either way . 10-9 ward, Ivanov should have had a point deducted so even if he won the round would have been 9-9

round 3 - again not much in it, give it to ivanov though ward starting to look tired and sloppy- 10-9 ivanov 29-29

round 4 - probebly the clearest round of the fight, Ivanov reminded me of salido coming in swinging wild low shots not even caring where the beltline is. when he went to the head ward was able to make him miss by a mile, ward tidied up well and slowed done the pace of the fight and did the cleaner work. 10-9 ward

round 5 - another 50-50 ivanov better at the start ward doing good work at the end, could give this one either way, il give it to ivanov in the interest of being unbias. 10-9 ivanov 48-48

round 6 - another 50-50 very close and competitive. 59-59

judging was a disgrace, apb reporting was even a bigger disgrace they made it sound like ivanov completely dominated unlucky not to stop ward

It was fantastic to see Andy coming home with his belt. It would be great if he could have some time to squeeze in a couple of voluntary defences against marketable (but beatable) guys. Rotten luck having BJS as his first defence.

If you go by boxrec alone you would swear Andy is brilliant against southpaws. (Ko Daniels, Korobov, Jackson ..part time spaw...)all this is because, being fellow southpaws, they were there for his right hook in the end.

But actually Andy struggles with southpaws, if you watch the whole of his fights against southpaws.

Billy Joe isn't just any ordinary southpaw. He has other qualities that make him all wrong for Andy....speed, slickness, smoothness, athleticism etc. not saying BJS is some kind of unbeatable boxing God or anything, but he is a very big ask for Andy IMO.
Hopefully Andy can postpone facing him for a while.

got tis from the brit forum:good

Carl Frampton's first defence of his IBF world super-bantamweight title against American Chris Avalos will take place in Belfast on 28 February.
As expected, the bout will be staged at the Odyssey Arena in Frampton's native city.
Frampton's promoter Barry McGuigan said that Avalos would represent "a tough, valid opponent" for the Belfast man.
Unbeaten Frampton, 27, beat former champion Kiko Martinez on points to secure the title in September.Frampton suffered hand damage in that fight which took place at a specially erected outdoor venue in Belfast's Titanic Quarter but has recovered to resume training.
The Belfast man emerged victorious from a gruelling 12-rounder against Martinez to maintain his record of 19 straight wins.
Speaking at a news conference in Belfast on Thursday, Californian Avalaos, 24, predicted that he would knock out Frampton in "five or six rounds".
However, Frampton's trainer Shane McGuigan retorted by insisting that the Belfast man would stop Avalos between the "sixth and eight round".
Californian Avalos, 24, stopped Yasutaka Ishimoto in May to become the mandatory challenger and since then he has beaten Jose Cen Torres to take his career statistics to 25 wins and two losses.

His two defeats have come against Christopher Martin and Jonatan Romero and his defeat of Ishimoto in China is the only time he has fought outside the United States.
