Where you there Fra or have you heard any feedback from people that were,
I believe Dunlop is doing a pretty decent job with his regular small hall shows,
Some decent if not brilliant lads in his stable aswell,Good luck to him,

What's this about. Carl fighting Gonzalez?
If true at least it's not wasting his prime fighting unknowns like Quigg for chump change like ....er....£1,500,000 eh?

Joe seems to be another super talent from the travelling clan that wont achieve what he is capable of,an awfull pity.

Joe is an amazing talent and not hear to criticise him as I never got close to his level as an amateur but seeing him spar a few times in our gym and he is untouchable for 4 or 5 rounds then because his style burns so much energy constantly in and out on his feet he slows down and lads start to have some success.

I think it's as much to do with his style as any lack of dedication , needs to fine tune that over 8 rounds get used to slower pace of professional boxing and he will come good again. Hopefully his confidence isn't affected and I'm sure he bounces back more determined and hungry.

I think Ward was terrible. You know just for a while I thought we had a real super star in our midst, but it wasnt to be:verysad. He sounds like a lazy boy, time to man up:deal

I've just had a look at Gonzalez and he looks decent. Hopefully not a banana skin for Carl. Rangy, long reach good left hook, no mug. No worse than what Quigg and LSC have been facing, that's for sure.
Carl has to keep the LSc angle alive, and the U.S. Angle too, cos having turned down Quigg, and with no guarantee Quigg beats Kiko, Carl hasn't got THAT many options.

Anyway I'm beyond caring at the moment, on hols in Marbella, just back from MGM in Puerto B****. Impressive setup, equipment, trainers etc. :good

Like anything else in life, talent is only part of the package. A guy needs the hunger, discipline, intelligence etc etc to achieve big success. :good

Joe has gone backwards since a few year ago, he won the Euros at 17 beat Kenny Egan and then beat Meckhonshev, now he is losing to lads he should be beating with ease, weird performance at the weekend, not surprised though as he was posting pics of himself couple of weeks ago slugging Guinness and eating roast beef dinners, he is going to **** his talent away if he dosent knuckle down.

yeah puca i was was there... good crowd.... dunlop is building something here... most of his fiters are very average... tennyson and walsh and possibly fitzpatrick being the exceptions...although to be fair the rest are all novice pros and need experience... dunlop needs a bit of tv attention which would help his cause greatly...but all in all hes doing well:good

Yes but is the gamble worth it? It's quite possible to be a very big star WITHOUT the U.S. Market. The lighter divisions are not that attractive stateside. Maybe Carl should have stuck to the Irish Isles and Europe, and if the U.S. Happens, it happens.
Barry tried to make it in the states in his day and we all saw how THAT worked out!
But I do wish him all the best of course.

Although I dont agree with the way Joe Ward decided to stop boxing in his fight last week I still think he qualifies for the Olympics ... I dont think he is suited to the pro game for a number of reasons , dedication being one of them but he's an unbelievable amateur and over 3 rounds anyone will find it hard to beat him.. Hope he bounces back ok there'll be a lot of pride lost in the manner of defeat
