Thought Nolan was very unlucky there. He dominated the first and lost it on all three judges scorecards! Thought the third was a clear Nolan round as well. He lost a split 30-27, 29-28 and 28-29/
i know lmfao seen the odds, was tempted to back the Ukrainian since his such good value but my irishness wouldn't let me this Ukrainian is good and ward wont have a harder fight until the final against de la cruz if he gets passed him paddypower is a complete joke tbh, the Uzbek at middleweight should be the favourite for gold and they don't even list him
Tough fight! The Ukrainian throws a lot of punches, quality body shots and good power as well. He's a bit wild at times and had a tough enough fight today so hopefully Ward can out box him, he'll have to work hard though.
ya I agree with all that, one thing I don't think he has though is a great boxing brain, and with it only being 3 rounds I could see him struggling to come to grips at all with ward who is a smart tricky southpax to say the least
Yeah don't think the Algerian Benchabla had the power to keep the Ukrainian at bay in the first couple of rounds as well, hopefully Ward will.
The Ukrainian came flying straight out of the blocks, working the body with meaty shots and throwing hard hooks. Benchabla tried to box off the back foot but couldn't really keep your man off. It went the same way in the second. The Ukrainian slowed down a fair bit in the last round and Benchabla nicked it. But it was an impressive performance from Khyzhniak.
Eamonn O Kane is vacating his irish title - should lead to some interesting match-ups at 160 here. No disrespect to Eamo but my guess is that he'll be trying to win it back again next year, but anyway....... Lot happening at 160 domestically at the moment. Exciting times ahead.
I'd say your right Len, I can see in a years time i'kane fighting andy lee in a scouts hall for bus fair home
