    A host of Irish boxers aiming to qualify for this summer’s Olympics in Rio are in action this week at the European Olympic qualifiers in Samsun, Turkey with the semi-finals, finals and box-offs live on RTÉ Player on Friday 15, Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 April.

    Additionally Darragh Maloney will be joined by Bernard Dunne, Eric Donovan and Mick Dowling for highlights on RTÉ2 at 8.30pm on Sunday 17 April with commentary from Adrian Eames.

    Ireland have a nine-strong team in Turkey with the Men’s team comprising Brendan Irvine, David Oliver Joyce, Dean Walsh (Eliminated), Michael O’Reilly, Darren O’Neill and Dean Gardiner and the Women’s team featuring Ceire Smith, Katie Taylor and Christina Desmond.

    RTÉ Player schedule (assuming Irish involvement) –

    Friday 15 April – Day 1: all Semi-finals

    Saturday 16 April – Day 2: Finals + Box offs

    Sunday 17 April – Day 3: Finals + Box offs

    Not a guaranteed win for Katie...this is a very loseable fight. Fingers crossed for Katie.
