Just watched the Sutcliffe fight it should of been scored a draw I'm thought he won rounds 4,6,7,8 if there was two more rounds he would of won. He started very slow couldn't get his shots of not bad for 2 weeks notice he will learn a lot from it as well. Not really a lose in the long run.

Ryan Burnett is the no 1 prospect imo

TJ Doheny is another decent prospect based in Australia and also there's a good heavyweight gone pro under Virgil Hunter called Con Sheehan.

Steve Collins Jr looks decent for someone who never fought as an amateur .

Some serious talent in the amateurs who will turn over after the Olympics in Michael Conlan, Joe Ward, Paddy Barnes and Brenda Irvine to name a few

quigley impressed against dlr...if he continues to improve he is a great prospect. obviously he is nowhere near the finished article at this stage and he has flaws sure, but he is very good. too early to get too excited about him yet - but as they say the fundamentals are there...

This division sees no outstanding gold prospect but rather as many as Twelve potential winners. I would include Irvine in that lot. Vietta, Aloyan, Mamishzada, Vargas, Jianguan, Zoirov, De los Santos, Sattibayev, Ali, Flissi, Emigdion and Irvine. Indeed Abgaryan, Martinez, Cintron, or the home boy Neto could defeat any of the above. Add in Asenov, Finol the PanAm champion, beat Vietta), Avila,Piccardi, Touba, Fatych, Usenaliyev and Jimenez who have yet to qualify and there will be very few easy fights here.

the European champion has wins over Ali, Jianguan, Willie Donohue, Frankie Cleary, but lost to Irvine in a play-off for a Rio place. It is one division where Europe isnt the strongest region, both America and Asia having the edge. Mamishzada, Ali, and Asenov have all showed flashes as has Brendan. The longer it goes on Irvine will be growing into the weight and certainly can medal. A lot of the top men will be coming down from APB, and WSB distances and could struggle with the pace.
You could turn this top ten on its head, or even the top twenty. The World qualifier should be good as indeed will the APB-WSB box-offs. Personally I really like Irvine's style but here goes with my rankings.
1-Aloyan
2-Mamishzada
3-Sattibayev
4-Vargas
5-Veitia
6-Emigdion
7-Ali
8-Irvine
9-Jianguan
10-De los Santos

If Irvine could get his defence a bit tighter, he could do well maybe get a win or two at least.

Not a bad call I had yigit by a point with one even,I was surprised with the scoring it was accurate,we are not always used to that in Germany
Yigit seemed to take the foot off the gas in the second half,where Phil fought at a steady pace throughout,good performance for s late call up
He will be fine at euro level and may even win a euro belt but can't see him as a fighter at world stage tbh

I see Matthew Macklin has announced his retirement. Great fighter and very nice guy too. at his best he was the best 'Brirish' middleweight in many a long day. I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing him all the best for the rest of his life.
