No decisions, Conlon and Ward won clearly. Cully and Gardner lost for sure. A rusty Barnes boxed at 52 and got a bit of a lesson against an excellent Satabayev. Walsh and O'Reilly were pretty competitive against good Kaz's. There were no bad Kaz's, the best boxer on the night was their light-fly, Zhakipov, former world champ who outfought and out-boxed an India.
He explained it all in his statement. Basically his body wasnt responding anymore. Only sheer grit got him through against Rose, but Matthew was determined to not go out on a loss. Half way through the fight he was behind and all done in - but he toughed it out. Its just a shame Andy Lee - who was in the same position against BJS, except Andy basically surrendered his title pretty tamely. Andy didnt bite down on his gumshield and claw his way back to win like Matthew did. Thats one example of why Ive personally always regarded Macklin as the better of the two without a doubt.
We had a perfectly successful promotion outfit operating here. I still can't see why MGM can't continue prompting here. Holding a boxing event is not a crime, and it's the job of the police to deal with anyone breaking the law. As far as I know MGM did no wrong here. They're basically being banned because our authorities can't keep law and order?! Am I the only one who finds this ridiculous? Makes us a laughing stock of a country.
Walsh and o Reilly may have to go through box offs to go to the next qualifiers after breaches of discipline.
What have they done? What had Dan Kinahan actually done here? What actual crimes has he been convicted of? It's guilt by association. That's all wrong. It's like...there's a shooting in a dunnes stores so we shut all Dunnes Stores.
I'm getting texts etc all the time about Pretty boy versus ....er ...'ugly boy'! dont tell me this garbage is actually likely to.....you know.....actually happen? Say it aint so...please!!!!
