You cant see anything wrong with what each guy is saying??? So you think its reasonable for say spike who was beaten in his last fight by stoppage to expect a shot at the world title???atsch There is self promotion and then there is self delusion
A big ask, yes. But not impossible. If Carl gets his tactics spot on, and has a bit of luck on the night, he can pul this off. Not saying it will be easy, but it can be done.
A lot of ifs there Len, can't help thinking all LSC has to do is employ his usual tactics and Frampton will have no answer to them.
Have faith, Marty, have some faith! Previous opponents have showed Carl what NOT to do..meet him head on slugging. You can't beat him that way. But you can be sure Carl realises that. Carl won't try to out slug him the way Mares and Kiko did. Both of them pushed him fairly hard, just using simple one dimensional slugging tactics. Don't you think Carl can't learn from them and do a bit better, Marty? Course he can....:deal
Lsc is what I would call 'effective' rather than intelligent as a boxer. He has 2 modes. Shelled up behind a tight guard....or swamping you with a storm of punches. In either mode he is invulnerable. That's the bad news. The ***** in his armour is if Carl can time his jab straight through that she'll guard, then use nifty footwork to dodge the return fire, rinse and repeat....I think he can disrupt Leo's routine enough to upset him. After a while Carl can just concentrate on avoiding the first 2 shots of Leo's combo, and start banging in his own right hand. Carl will fight a cerebral fight to win. If he can last the pace and stick to the blueprint he can win this. He will have to be tough and he will need to be lucky but it can be done.
This fight is being marketed to the casuals as a war. I don't think it will pan out that way. Carl is a very cautious safety first guy. So are the mcguigans. They all know wars shorten careers. This fight will be a lot more tactical than expected. It won't be a wild shootout. I doubt leo will be buzz sawing 100 punches a round, and neither will Carl.
Noel Murphy will be fighting on the PBC undercard, with the 2 Ukranian prospects headlining on the 21st
I see Qatar have bought themselves 2 places in the Olympics, AIBA have no credibility, I would love to see boxing thrown out of the Olympics until this shower get there act together, id love to know how a Turk and an Indonesian fighter can fight for Qatar even though they have no obious connection to the country.
Sure Dean Walsh would probably have qualified for Rio if it wasn't for Cuban Lorenzo Sotomayor boxing for Azerbaijan
Going to it! They're not even talking about it Marty. :| Obviously nobody rates his chances much. Maybe you should write a new post saying that you've thought about it again, and you now feel Carl will win easily!!! That might whip up some interest, at least get the hoors talking about the fight....:bbb
I think most think Frampton will lose but there's a lack of support for Frampton on this thread that he use to have
