we cant forget that Andy hasnt fought in the US since Vera and alot of the american public didnt see his fantastic display against Gibbs. hes a very likeable guy I have no doubt he will capture the imagination of the american public in the future! He will just need to get more fights over there the thing is i dont think they want lee fighting nobodies they want him stepping up competition every time he enters the ring heres the interview I did with andy a few weeks ago http://www.blogtalkradio.com/OnTheGrind/va/2009/02/13/ep-39
I still feel it could be better for him if he was to go the European route, fighting from Ireland. Done right he could be the champion within two years, then he goes back to America a 26-year-old with a bigger reputation. Was Echols a good enough step up or just a game opponent for his first fight back after the op? I haven't seen him fight but with nearly a 15-year gap between the two, ANdy would have been expected to do something decisive, for me.
completely agree with you! Echols would have given lee a good work out without a doubt but it would be a fight i would expect lee to win. but lets not forget hes coming back from a long lay off!

That is positive news Paddy. Is a European title fight in Belfast possible.? LEADING MAN GETS ON WITH WHAT HE KNOWS BEST http://www.independent.ie/sport/oth...-gets-back-to-what-he-knows-best-1665153.html
MALONEY IS OPEN TO MOORE V MOORE http://www.setanta.com//uk/Articles...9/Boxing-Maloney-on-Moore-v-Moore/gnid-43608/ That's get it on.
Between John O'Brien and Vincent Hogan the Indos have two very good writers about the amateur scene, I reckon they genunely follow it.
Jamie Moore is in todays MEN saying that he is targetting the US because he is above the remaining opposition in Yerp.He said that he intends using the Irish title as a tool - so maybe that is the key to a Moore v Moore fight!
looks great - nice one! Plenty of typos still in there though. Me seppling isnt da best and the wurst a times.
it really comes across when a reporter has a love for the sport as opposed to a journalist that has been asigned a job.
the only reason Jamie would fight him is for the exposure in the US - kinda defeats the object if they had it here or in Ireland.
