Irish Boxing

I will be attending although I hope he fights a better fighter than Vanda There really is nothing like the atmosphere of a Duddy fight at the "world's greatest arena", the combination of an exciting fighter and the big city make it electric. I went to the Campas, Cuevas, and Bonsante fights. I really hope Andy Lee is on the card. An irish american fighter who I believe is from Hells Kitchen named Mcdermott might be on the card. It will also be fun to see Wlad live plus he will draw a lot of Eastern European fans, which inevitably will fight with Duddy fans.

Yea Irish American, I go to a lot of the fights from Boston to Ny. After Micky Ward retired I instantly began to follow Duddy from very early on his career, which I believe many Irish Americans are doing now. Duddy and Pavlik will be a big fight but I can't possibly see it being anywhere other than the east coast. By the way if your interested you can check out a new book called Irish Thunder the Hard Life and Times of Micky Ward if your interested in Irish American boxing. The irish have such a rich history in boxing in the U.S., but unfornately it is a thing of the past.

 

I watched that one on the RTE webcast.

It would have been good to have been in Belfast thet evening.
